Work at night.
Work alone in a public place.
Live in a bad neighborhood.
Work in the sex industry.

Put signs in your yard promoting politicians that have an anti-gun platform.
If you do not carry a cell phone.
One thing you should know is to recognize lures. Basically recognizing the killer’s hunting/capture techniques. A policeman or security guard approaching you and asking you to come with them for any reason, for instance. Plant your feet firmly on the ground, do not move from the spot where they approach you. Ask for ID and while they are getting it out call 911 and confirm their identity. You take the ID in your hand and read it out loud, and look directly into their face. If they back off, you will be able to identify them. You will probably have their ID, and their fingerprints on the ID. If a policeman or security guard that does not have a state issued vehicle tries to get you into a private car, do not cooperate, and get help. The same method applies to police showing up at your front door or approaching you in stalled traffic. If there is no good reason for the police to be there, call 911 and confirm their identity before answering the door or rolling down your window. Now, if you have robbed a string of convenience stores and sold crack for the past three years this is probably not good advice.
The serial killer often has above normal intelligence and is manipulative enough to give you a false sense of safety. They do not have a conscience. If you cooperate and do what he or she wants, they will really appreciate your manners and will repay you by murdering you. Kick, scream, bite, gouge, do anything to get away, jump out of the car, wreck the car. Just get away.

In Alabama 1 in 3 - New York state 1 in 5 - southern Texas 1in 10 because they kill those suckers so they kind of shy away from there.

I would say fairly high. I've crossed paths with two. One actually worked at my place of employment. Of course we never knew till he was caught.
