I like a guy who's 31 this year. I am 21. Do you think our age gap is too wide?

Not at all, as long as you are happy together that's all that matters.

The "age gap" is the least of your problems at such a young age. There tends to be little emotional maturity difference between 21 and 31 in most people (yes, a generalization but legitimate regardless), especially in the case where the man is older. Exceptions to the rule exist, of course. But what is more important here is "are you happy?". Personal experience: When I was 26 years old, I was with a 51 year old woman. Age gap? We didn't care. It's all about how happy you are.

I don't think she made love an issue here.

Yet anyway that's a question no one here can answer truely. Just make sure you two are in the same stage of life; I've seen that kind of age gap go sour when the older one starts talking of marriage/kids when the other's not ready for it.

And actually the fact that you went on and ask this question may be a reason for you not to. Because people *will* talk about that if you do pair up; you have to be prepared to not care about their opinions.

I think as long as you love someone then that's all that matters. But the age gap can cause some problems especially if you are not that well suited.

No, so long as you are happy together. Throughout history, lots of older men have been with younger women, and is lots of cases everybody involved was happy with it. Now sometimes older women are with younger men, and that should be ok too if the 2 people involved love each other.

Congratulations! You're giving into a sociological perception if you let age play a role. Age is not an issue.

As long as both of you love each other, I think age is never a problem

Age doesn't matter so long as the other is not under age.
