is there a certain age gap between 2 people to be classed as a toyboy or is it just a term when a man dates an older woman?

this woman is way above most mens expectations in career and in looks, its just a question she asked me to define , was it an insult? was there a certain age gap to be classes as 'toyboy'?

People use this phrase when there is 18 months between the man and the woman or even less. All it means in this circumstance is that, she has done what many women choose not to do and go out with someone who is younger than them. Most women go for men older than themselves.
Toyboy can mean a play thing. Rich, successful women can have their cute, beautiful toyboy because they have the power to do so.

toy boy is not available in the general English dictionary and thesaurus. I believe based on what I know to be the definiton of "boy toy" that this is probably a variation of it.

There is no specific age to be classified that way, I have also heard women refer to men that they are dating, even if the same age, that they are not serious about as boy toys as well. I can't be sure if it was said as an insult at the time, but normally, a man doesn't want to be called a boy toy, it's like saying a girl is a booty call.. or even better compare it to a girl having a sugar daddy, the boy toy has a sugar momma.

The thing a woman is more maturer , emotonally, attached, smart then the man, thats human nature, so for a women to have a younger man dont make sense to most people, they see toybody as thing for a woman who is desperate, insecure and cant get anyone her own age because she has low esteem, aitn attractive and not very smart so she goes for a younger man, most couples the male is older, again thats human nature, so u see why ppl regard toyboy as sum toy to be messed around by the woman because its seems not natural for a woman to have a younger man as i i mentioned the female is mature, smarter etc then males, so to do opposite its like the woman is dumb, desperate, and not natural..

A toyboy is referring to a man that is going out with an older woman. It means 'plaything' but nowadays I don't think it is referring to the 'plaything' part, just the younger man part.

i think if you are a good deal younger say 10 years than you can be a toyboy, don't no of any rules though just make up your own' if you both are happy then that's ok.

just means a plaything! a casual description bandied about by the media regardless if they know the facts about the relationship or not. age difference should'nt be any more than 15 years only my expectations not a yardstick for life.
