In the world of relationships, when someone gets treated unfairly by their partner, do you think Karma exists and bad things might happen to these people so they get what they deserve for being unfair?

I like to think that there is such a thing as karma and that everyone gets what they deserve in the end. Even if it takes a while, those people who have mistreated others in any way and/or committed terrible crimes will get what's coming to them.

Karma isn't something you can switch off and on. Karma exists whether in terms of a relationship or not. It's important not to try to analyse events too much. Everyone gets what they deserve in the end. I'm speaking from personal experience too. I've been through a lot of crap over recent years. My wife left me, got divorced, suffered a stroke, career has suffered... I've often questioned, "What have I done to deserve this to happen to me?", but rather than get caught up trying to understand why it has happened and wasting precious time, I concentrate on the present situation and try not to worry about the past or future.

Having said this, the opposite also applies. If I were to suddenly find myself in a positively fortunate situation, I would still just accept it and get on with my life. Accepting that you have limited control of what happens in your life is a step closer towards understanding the nature of life.

OK, you may feel that you have been treated unfairly by a partner. Just treat all difficulties as a refining process that will improve your character and life. It is tough because of the emotional attachment that you may still hold upon the other person and the relationship. But realise that it is all in the past and the only way you can shape the future is by attending to the present...

I believe in destiny, fate, karma, soul mates...the whole sheebang..I believe that everything happens for a reason...why? Mainly because I refuse to believe that everytime I life myself up, i get kicked back down for no reason..

So, it must either be fate or karma..<.< I am thinking Karma..cause...youse Yahoo's prolly don't know this..but...im a wee little bit of a jerk...just a touch <.<

"karma" IS "action", nothing more. What we set in motion has consequences, and those consequences create more karma . . . everything changes. The idea that "karma" is this grand ledger of good deeds and bad deeds is probably wrong, except that things tend to even out over long periods of time (which is part of the argument for reincarnation, however the only thing we actually take with us when we die is that which we have set in motion). the terms "positive" (good) and "negative" karma might apply from the perspective that both lead to more of what they begin . . . The beauty of it all is that we get to start over every day.

Hi yes I do.

A year ago I left my ex cos he hit my daughters.
He was very abusive and controlling. He had me isolated,it was 10 miles to the next town and 200 miles from my family.
I had his baby and 2 other girls.
Despite being married to him he left me when she was 2 weeks old and I'd had a C-Section.He gave me no help and had the phone cut off so I had no internet to food shop, basically I couldn't feed my girls.
He kept leaving and returning and did that 5 times in 4 months, simply cos I'd ask him to hold the baby or I wanted to go out somewhere.
He once left me in the car and walked off with my baby for 25 mins on the dual carraigeway simply cos I wanted to go to the bank-I had no keys and couldn't drive-
I was so scared of him as I found out a week
before the birth he'd chased his boss with a machete.
He was always putting me down,he offered to pay for a tummy tuck when she was 4 weeks old [i'm only a UK size 12]
He was always shoving me around, screaming and hitting.I left when he hit my daughters

I went into refuge and got a 4 bedroom council house near my family,I filed for divorce, bankruptcy, got counselling and started driving lessons
I'm studying with the Open University and I'm going to train to be a solicitor specialising in helping victims of domestic violence

He was my 2nd violent husband, the first left me to bleed to death and beat me when I was 7 months pregnant.

My hubby can now only see the baby on my terms at a contact center and that's only when he starts paying his way to cover my expenses for the visit.

Neither of my exes can see their children on Xmas day, birthdays or even know where they live.

Thats Karma, while i'm sat In my lovely house with my beautiful children and a very hopeful future.

I do. I've been in 2 long-term relationships that weren't entirely happy for various reasons. The things that caused me pain , and sometimes it was caused deliberately, no longer hurt me. I am now in a position to return the pain. I do not do this deliberately, but for example, in 1 of the relationships, I always felt unwanted.

The person has changed his mind now, but it's too late. I've moved on. So now he knows how I felt for years. It gives me no pleasure though....just sadness.

Forgive this ramble....I'm finding it all difficult to think about.

I do. I always try to treat people the way that I want to be treated. I figure if I screw someone over someone that I start to care about will screw me over.

and if someone has broken your heart, dont be bitter, their karma will go back to them, one day or another...
