omg i cant believe how long some of these people boil eggs for, if you boill them too long you will get a greenish tint around the yolk

cover with cold water add a little vinegar (this stops the white leaking out if the egg cracks) bring to the boil, turn heat down and boil gently for between 7/9 minutes depending on the size of the egg

remove from heat and put egg in cold water asap (this will also help it keeps its yellow colour) leave to cool for about 10 minutes topping up with cold water if necessary

peel and enjoy !

A soft boiled egg needs to be in the boiling water for 3 minutes (from when the water starts boiling) a hard boiled egg takes at least 8 minutes. You can boil eggs for ages, I have boiled them for up to an hour without a problems except the water may get a bit low.

The best way of boiling eggs is to put them in a pan, cover with water, bring to a boil. When at a full rolling boil, remove from heat, cover immediately, and let sit 20 min. Dump water and add cold flowing water over eggs to stop cooking process.

STEP 1: Place the egg in a saucepan. STEP 2: Run cold water into the saucepan until the water is 1 inch above the egg. STEP 3: Place the saucepan on a stove and cook over medium heat until the water begins to boil. STEP 4: Reduce the heat to low. STEP 5: Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes for soft-boiled eggs or 10 to 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs. STEP 6: Remove the egg with a spoon or ladle and let it cool slowly, or run cold water over it to cool it more quickly.

Bring SLOWLY to the full boil from cold water and then turn off and leave 5-10 minutes works well without any tools. But for perfect eggs at all stages, get the 'boil in with' timer from Lakeland www.lakelandlimited. co. uk. Product 3158 called Egg-Perfect. It changes colour to indicate soft, medium, hard - so you know eggsactly (sorry) what you're getting.
