My cat wouldn't leave me alone when she started going into labor. It started with her going in and out of the box I had gotten ready for her. Then her breathing changed. 2 hours later nothing had happened so I went to bed. She kept jumping up on the bed and curling around my head so I'd put her back in the box. When I woke up in the morning there were 8 kittens and a mama cat passed out next to me on the bed. Some cats don't want to be bothered and some want you there for support I think. You'll definitely know when she's in labor though. The vet also said that when her nipples start leaking milk, there will be kittens within a week.

When my cat has kittens a few months ago it was in the middle of the night. She jumps on the bed and meowed really loudly like she was in real paid. She then started on what I can only describe as stretch her body, in about half an hour ker kittens were out. Im afraid my boyfriend has the details of the births as I would have passed out. But she cleaned then up and you wouldn't have even known what went on. They are so clean. Dont be tempted to keep the kittens though!! Cute but poop a lot!

Certainly sounds like it, my cat also lay on the carpet and rocked on her tummy, she didn't use one of the cardboard boxes we had put around the house for her, she had 5 beautiful kittens in my sons wardrobe!
Have fun.

get her to lay down and put your hand on her belly if you feel her musles geting tense then loosing the count the time between them. some cats who hate to have there bellys touch will love to have them lightly rub when in labour it helps them relax

when my cat went into labour, she was pacing around the house, crying and panting. she was following me everywhere. i could also see her tummy contracting. eventually, she went behind the sofa and gave birth, she did it all herself. good luck with your kittens, you'll have so much fun!!

she will want to find a soft cosy place to have her kittens. She will also be purring as they do this when they are in pain. If in doubt, take her to the vet.

maybe, is she panting yet? what about looking for a hiding place?
make her a box in a closet and sit with her so that she knows that's where she should have her babies
