Different answers for different people. It hit me when I was 16. I did the psychiatrist appointments along with drugs. I had to stop going out for a month or two. Then when the drug started working, I returned to society, slowly. After a while, I lowered the drug dosages and eventually stopped taking them altogether. It was almost a case of positive momentum ...

Terrible illness isn't it. I take efexor and lorazapam to calm the anxiety. Also the sublingual form when an attack starts. However I no longer go more than a few blocks from home.

Counseling, therapy, etc. Try and push yourself a little at a time and see if things get easier. Medication as a very last resort. Good luck to you.

Refrain from going into a crowded place, esp. public markets...
or better see a doctor for immediate medication.

There are medications that lessen the anxiety.
It is treatable.
