i have sort of light brown eyes and fair skin. a hair color that is not too light but not too dark either. what do you think? thanks.

You could go for a light tan blondish colour.

I don't know what your face looks like, so it will be hard to make a suggestion. Avoid dying your hair, especially if it's a dramatic change. You'll only get split ends and a headache. I'm guessing you're probably a brunette. I am, too. Don't fall into the "brunette" trap of not being happy with your original color. Just work what you have. And if you simply MUST dye it, avoid a color that is a too-big change, so don't go platinum blonde or gothy black! ^^

Sounds like you are in the "fall" season category. Browns, reds, orange, green, and yellow tones may work best for you. Have fun and good luck!

i think pastel colors would look good on u, light green, just like the color of young leaves and light blue as well would definitely look good on u.
