In an attempt to simplify the answer it is correct to call Jesus "God manifest in the flesh" To further simplify it we read in the Gospel of John Ch.1 "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God" Same Chapter verse 14 reads "and the word became flesh and dwelt among us" Many years ago I asked the same question and found the Lord eventually in my heart. The connection between you and Him is that he calls you continually to come to him for salvation which is a free gift from God (let him who ever will come) You may accept him as your savior by simple child like faith and he will do the rest and will guide you through life while you await his coming.

He is Lord and He is God. The Savior of the World. The First Born from the dead. The Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. Wonderful.

Seek Him. Seek to do His will. He has made a way for you. Before the foundation of the world, He knew all your days. Be filled with His Spirit continually. He has great things in store for you. Just love Him with all your heart. He will show you that there is much work to be done.
For "He is not willing that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance."

If Jesus were ONLY a prophet. Then He was an insane prophet. His claims are far greater than mere prophet. Far greater. And He proved it when He rose from the dead of His own power. WOW! He sure did.
The...Tomb...Is... Empty! Yaaaaaahooooooo! and Hallelujah!

Jesus - fully God, fully human, Son of God, the Messiah - the One who died on the cross to pay, in full, the sins of the world.

Connection - God created you, loves you, and wants you to spend eternity with Him - sin is separating God and you. Jesus died on the cross, was buried and resurrected in full payment of all you sins so that if you accept His free gift of salvation, you will forever have a relationship with God and be with Him for all eternity.

Second coming - Live as if He were coming tomorrow - plan as if He is not coming until after you have left this earth. In other words, live a life filled with Christ Jesus - follow His examples - love as He loved. When you fail, ask forgiveness of Him - talk to Him daily - be kind, compassionate, trustworthy - read the Bible - it is God's love letter to you. Share your faith when God leads you to. Plan as if He's not coming right away so that if He tarries, and He says He will till the last person that will be saved has accepted His salvation, you will be able to support yourself and your family.

Jesus, the man, was a Jewish Rabbi. Christ, the spirit, was a spiritual teacher. Forget about second comings, Christ has already been to earth as a spiritual guide several times starting in the Garden of Eden as the serpent and spiritual guide to Adam and Eve. Moses, Jesus, John the Baptist, Krishna, Mohammad, etc. were all Christ.

As far as how to live your life simply follow HIS example, and disregard all the other rubbish, like the writings of Paul who never even met Jesus.

There is a mirror before you.... and if you look deeply, something behind the eyes before you blink them and before you close them, that reflect the image of God in you......

That image of God is spiritual in nature, and as in nature, oh so natural that it is passe to even notice it..... and so is forgotten for what is naturally seen...... That is the body of you......

Jesus helped to create the mirror (John 1).... As a matter of fact, he is the original portion of the reflection.... and there are two....(Gen 1: Let us create)

The one is God.... and the Other is Christ (without him was not anything made that was made).... between them are you in the reflection........

With each successive generation, that image becomes smaller. and that is because men will always struggle with the image of God within them as men are flesh (Gen 6:3).....

You were created for purpose (Eph 1)..... You may not know it now... but there is a reason you question... there is a reason you ask, there is a reason why you exist and why you long to understand........

and so you dream.....

and when you dream, you enter that place (luke 17:21) to tell God what you have been doing with the allotted time you have while here in this place....... There is a book of your life being written there one day at a time, in an impossible place of possible things unimaginable and you have witnessed it.....

You may not remember it, but you were there!!! I tell you! You were there!!!....... and the things you have done... are written there..... and it is all apart of you.....

just as you breathe today.... that breath creates the reasoning in you because that breath is life (Gen 1:26).... Without it, your body will break down cell by cell...... with it.... You reason, you think... therefore, you are!!!

And when He comes again...... that book of your life..... will be opened at the end of days..... as your life's story shall close.... He shall open it and read it to God...... and if that story of your life is worthy, it shall be included in a Great Anthology of History called the Book of Life....... There is where your book is saved......

The other books, shall burn in a heap...... But, not yours.... because you are a child of the Most High!!!!

I love you my brother.... Keep searching for understanding wherever you feel comforted and lead.......

Your sister,
Ginger

Jesus is slavation come, Jesus is the Christ fortold by the prophets of the Israel. He is the person spoke of by Isaiah the Prophet who said behold they perice my hand and my feet. They case lots for my rob. They plow my back as a field. Jesus is the conclusion of 4000 years of prophsey. From the creation of modern man on the earth the prophets each spoke of him coming and When Jesus showed up every word the prophets spoke of was completed in him. God being just and know the nature of man and the sins of man. Provided a means of man coming back into right fellowship with GOD. That door way provided in the from of Jesus the Christ. He was and is the door to salvation. Jesus who healed more people then all the prophet added togeither is GOD in the flesh. We refer to him as the Son of GOD. Jesus had power over the natural and supernatural powers of the earth. He not only healed the sick but he gave gifts to men and he deministrated that he knew persons whole lifes and he forgave sin. He gave us he opertunity to be redeemed to GOD the Father by his free gift he payed the price for all people sin upon the cross. So that any one who believes on him as the promised Christ would be forgiven there sin and could be restored to GOD. His blood is now the atonement of our sin. And we now have the right to appear before the Father of creation as his children. We have been adoptive by his blood. And by his grace. If we believe and confess our sin and ask for forgiveness for our sin and ask him to be our Lord and Salvation. He is just to forgive. He offers the Free Gift of GOD Love and salvation.

The connection is that if you are a Christian, you are supposed to live by His teachings. Following what HE said & has asked of you.
As for you waiting for HIM ? I guess, HE would call on you at appropriate time of HIS choice. You just live life as broadly outlined in the Bible & the rest would follow.
