He is about 60 lbs overweight, has ALOT of body hair, and eats a poor diet of diet soda, alot of pork & fast foods. He doesn't eat fruits/veggies/fish either. He only showers for 4 min/nite (I've timed him) & I don't think it's enough, since he has acne on his back (w/ back hair, yuck!). He smells like the nasty stuff you find behind your ears when you haven't washed your hair for a few days, except all over. His sheets, blankets & pillows all retain the stink &I can't stand it!!! I've changed his shampoo, body soap and cut his hair short and he still smells bad. I've tried to find a nice cologne/after shave for him but he refuses to wear it. He actually got angry with me when I tried to tactfully suggest he wear something!

I mean, even his skin tastes bad when he kisses me - sort of rancid and acidy. Could be some illness which is causing this? How do I tell him I can't stand his smell (he didn't always smell so bad - we're together a lot of years).

Thanks for any help.

He doesn't seem to be able to bath himself, maybe you need to do it for him.

Yes it is a illness, it's called lazyass.

Since this doesn't seem to make you want to break up with him, just refuse to touch him until he washes more and starts eating a balanced diet so that his skin won't be rotting off. This is a choice you make for your own well being. Cologne wouldn't help anyway, it would just go rancid on him. A word of caution, for the first few months of eating veggies, he will have extra gas and he will probably be delighted.

Try and tell him how you feel and that it isnt hygenic for him to smell like this. Tell him you are trying your best but cannot put up with it anymore. If he doesnt want to lose you he should clean himself up. No woman would want a smelly man, its just not acceptable. Is there anyone else (family member or friend?) that he is close to who could have a word with him for you? Why dont you try having a bath or shower together and you can clean him? Make it look and appear romantic but scrub him clean!!

well cologne will only make his rotten smell worst, and exercising won't help either. I think the problem is not you but what he thinks of you. As you get older you will look less attractive. so what u need to do is get yourself in the gym and get a nice tan get your nails done and try and seduce him more often. This will change his mind about you and he will then change himself so he doesn't feel outdone by you. It's all in the psychology

sometimes honesty is the best policy. its seems to me that you have tried the whole beating around the bush thing, and he just isnt getting it. i mean, if yall have been together for a while then, ya'll should be able to talk about things. tell him..." baby, youre kinda slippin on your personal hygeine. youre starting to smell, and i cant take it. i love you and thats why i'm telling you. i'd want you to tell me, instead of letting me walk around like that" maybe not those excat words but something like that. let him know you love him and thats why you are telling him. id want someone to tell me if i stunk so i could fix it, and id rather it be a loved one, than a stranger! good luck!

That sounds bad... poor you. I was gonna tell you to dump him but I guess you love him.... I don't know about any disease which can cause this....maybe he's not motivated enough to keep himself clean and nice. Talk to him... tell him that you don't like the way he smells. Maybe write to him instead of telling him to his face (this should make it easier). I don't know about you, but I can't stand people who smell and definately won't keep a smelly bf. :-/

Hold him on ransom, dont give in until he cleans himself. If no change get rid of him, he is not worth it. If he does not change now, he will never ever change and you will also be like him. You will lose all your friends. People in public will also despise both of you.
