It's been a long time since I studied anything except Wing Tsun, but I would recommend you try the BBC Bite Size website.

you didn't say what grade you are in

first idea - when you get home - rewrite all class notes
..reason - of the 100% you forget this day - you lose 50% after only 8 hours. And then those squigglies you see in 3 weeks - will have already been translated and you know what they meant.

second idea - just reread your notes (since the last test in that class) each night before you go to bed - not slam them into memory - but read them like a good novel. - you will find that the tests become easier.

third - eat well - your brain needs carbs for thinking - do not skip breakfast - AND get a great nights sleep the night before.

fourth - consider taking 50 mg of vitamin B-12 daily - helps the brain think!

Never study for more than an hour without taking at least a five minute break, and be sure to get up and walk around for at least part of that break. Don't exhaust yourself.

If you're just reading from the textbook, actually take notes. Rewriting it is very helpful for remembering it.

Join a study group so you can discuss the concepts with other students. If there are no study groups, start one.

If you're still having trouble, see your teacher or a tutor outside of class for help with concepts you're having trouble with.

Make sure you're eating enough and that it's good, nutritious food. Caffeine is no substitute for a good meal.

Plan your study time. take notes with you whereever you are waiting. . and revise. Have a study session with your friend and ask questions of each other. That way you will take in more.

Listen to Mozart as you study, or eat fish, any sort, the day before your test (or days)....and that will help you remember things.
