To atheists: What will you do if when you die you find out christians were right and there is a heaven and hell, and jesus says that you have to go to hell because you denied him?
To christains a two part question: pt1. What will you do if when you die you find out the atheists were right and there is no heaven or hell? pt 2. What will you do if there is but Jesus says you cannot enter his kingdom because you did not spread his love to atheists, gays, or anyone else you just screamed at them, insulted them and threatened them with eternal damnation?

Can I just say for one thing, that continuing to exist as an immortal being would be great regardless. The idea of a soul seems pretty ridiculous under scrutiny but if it were the actually the case and I was still existing, conscious and intelligent after death, then I'd be pretty happy with my lot. I could imagine not being allowed into heaven--since that's for believers and though I'd given it a sincere shot it was just too weird and illogical for me.
But why Hell? Why put me in a fiery place with demons and whatnot? Does God hate me that much? Strange. If I were presented with that scenario I'd probably try to argue my case as genuinely as I could--that I searched earnestly for truth rather than dogma, and that I really had given Christianity a shot but got fed up with the double-talk and non-answers that seem systemic within it. I'd be agreeable and accomodating, but would respectfully ask if I might be placed someplace where I could learn and create rather than have my spirit skin flayed off all day long. If that didn't work I'd at least ask if I could ask a few questions to figure out what earth life was really all about and then would shrug and resign myself to my fate.

I'm an atheist so here goes:
I guess first of all, I would be existing as my soul so that I will know what happens to me.
Next, assuming Jesus is truly just and just one by his moral standing instead of his religious affiliation, I should stand a chance of entering heaven, so there's nothing to worry about.
However, assuming that only Christians are granted entry, and I will be forced into Hell, I guess it ain't that a bad place where I will be with the other atheists, muslims, jews, buddhists, hindus etc.
Either way, it won't be such a bad way.
But in any case, the chance that christians should be right is extremely improbably considering how many religions are there contending for this ultimate truth.

Well, if there is no heaven or hell at least I died happy & did as much good as I could while I was in the world.
And if Jesus says I cannot enter His kingdom for those reasons, I would ask Him when I did such a thing, as I have been trying to ask others to stop doing just that, ever since I became a Christian. There are better reasons for me to be sent to hell than those, some being ones certain fundies consider "unforgivable sins," so I guess I wouldn't be too suprised if God says no to me, for whatever reason.

I'm an Atheist!
I am told all the time by Christians that I will go to hell for not accepting god as my faith.
Here's a little something about me:
1. I am kind to everyone regardless of their beliefs.
2. I always fork out money to homeless people and help anyone else when i can.
3. I am not a bad person.
After telling these people this, I then say " if there is a god wouldn't he smile upon me for being a great compassionate human being"?
The answer usually is from them " it is not too late to be saved."
At this stage I laugh and walk away.

Not many atheist responded, so here's mine
I'll go to Jesus and debate the entire thing. Why does the atheists or the other religions, who have done many good deeds, still have to suffer hell? If that was really the case, I'll guess I'll go to hell and consult Buddha and the other religious folks and spend the eternity complaining that Christianity is not as GOOD as it makes itself to be

I really love that you managed to spell christian wrong both times. So much respect...
Anyway, if I'm wrong and there is a heaven and hell, then at least I lived a good life, by my own beliefs, and I'll regret nothing. If a god is so insecure that he witholds his love from those who won't blindly follow him, he's not worth worshipping anyway.

I'm an atheist, and if I saw God I would need to apologize for all the sinful things I have done like the time I met two college girls who took me to their dorm room and then they both started..... (several days of constant confession later)... and for stealing that magnetic lobster.
After a long list of apologies, I think I would ask a few of the big questions, like wtf was with the dino bones and hurricanes and Biblical paradoxes. I'd ask politely because, well, its God, but I would still want to know.
Then I would find out if they have any ps3's up there.

Christian: Thank God that would never happen. No, I'm not offended. I can't answer you the way you expect to be answered because entertaining a hypothetical question is not use. We get caught up in all the what if's, we end up not having the chance to give God's love to the confessed atheists and all the non-believers.
So now, here's your chance. Choose God to be your only saviour and you shall be saved.
Jesus loves you and I do too.

Part 1: Nothing, since nothing will happen after I die. But I wouldn't regret a thing. I have lost nothing in living as a Christian.
Part 2: I love everyone, or at least I try to, so the second part doesn't apply to me.

Jesus would know you can't deny things you don't think are real, wouldn't He? Since the God would know what has been inside me all my life, the questions, the desire for something more, my answer would be to smile politely and say, "A God evil enough to hide His existance yet expect blind obedience wouldn't suit me as my eternal companion. Since you are an evil God, I forgive you for acting with your nature and sending me to eternal torment."
