As for your friends, they need to be gradually introduced, with little bits of information being revealed as the story comes along, not all at once. As for the "show-stopping gorgeous group", please, PLEASE tell me that you are not modeling them after Twilight. Ugh, I mean, originality is key. Mariposa's answer is correct. However, subjunctive in Spanish is not limited to mood. There is is no mood in the translation of "I'll call you when I arrive in Rome." "Te llamaré cuando llegue en Roma."

Subjunctive, yes. And there is the "que".

Ohh, and mystifies me why people said "gustaría" (would like) instead of "desearía"... "Ojalá... etc" is quite right as well.
