I have been friends with a guy for 3 years. When he gets drunk he starts telling me how much he cares about me and about our future. I don't really understand cause he doesn't say anything like that when he is sober. I don't think he is really trying to get in my pants cause I am not going to have sex without a relationship, I make no effort but he still calls me. Is he lieing to me when he tells me how much I care or is just to scared to tell me the truth when he is sober.

i have a friend who kisses every single girl he meets when he is drunk...he is in love with every single one of them :) ...so just talk to your friend about it when he is sober!

Drunks and kids will always tell the truth...
I can't speak for him but I know when I get drunk I forget how unattractive I am and therefore I able to approach any girl I want and talk to her openly and honestly. The idea of having a relationship isn't very realistic if he's a real drunk(not that you indicated that but...) because relationships take honesty and for him honesty maybe induced by drunkeness. So unless you just like the smell of a drunk then you'd never have an honest relationship. Sounds to me like you need to pin him down when he's sober and ask him 1) why he does this to you and 2) does he really have feelings for you.

I dont think he has genuine feelings for you. If he did he would tell you how he felt when he was sober too. Ask him when he is sober if he cares about you and not just when he has been drinking.
The only way to find out for aure is to ask him. What have you got to lose by asking?

When he is sober, tackle him about it and see what he says. Or stop hanging around him when he is drunk if you don't wanna hear how much he loves you. If you want a relationship with this guy, tell him so!

i once knew a alcoholic we became good friends but he would always lie about everything. He was just to drunk to remember anything. He used drinking as an excuse to live a reckless lifestyle, and when s--t hit the fan i wanted to help him but he had already dug his own grave by that time. I feel horrible for people who can't control their own lives. Yet try and control everyone else around them.

Alcohol is known to take away inhabitions. If he only tells you how he feels when he's drunk, its probably because he's too scared to say anything to you when he's sober. He needs the alcohol to boost his confidence enough to just tell you what's really on his mind. I speak from experience, so take my word for it.

most people who are drunk have the courage to say things they normally wouldn't when sober, usually it's the truth. So yeah it's most likely truthful

he is telling you the truth.drunk guys are not unstable.that's for sure.what's the prime time for them to show their real emotions?
yep, that's when they are not sober.when a guy expresses himself when he is drunk,it is because when he the alcohol is taking over him,he sets his thoughts free.sets his compressed feelings deep down inside of him to be free as well.so, guys can be least trusted when they are drunk.i mean,trust their words, not actions :P when they are drunk.so, i guess this guy really cares about you. the reason he is denying it when he is sober is mainly because he doesn't want to show off his real feelings. maybe he is afraid that you might not like or something.

Usually they are telling the truth. But I know of people who becomes emotional when drunk and speaks all kind of loving words and may also express his emotion by crying and telling his inner secrets.
