Go to www.dpreview.com to research different cameras and see features compared and reviews.
Canon, Nikon, Kodak, and Olympus all have nice entry level cameras. What you want to look for is the macro mode. Some will focus closer than others, so just compare the figures. My Canon Powershot G6 takes excellent macro shots. The newer version is the G7, but neither one is a budget camera. I had an Olympus a few years back that had good macro, too.
Good luck!

Check for the Black Friday Ads in Wednesday's newspaper or google online. There will be several good cameras on sale for under $200.00 this holiday season. Some sales even start Thursday evening @ 9:00pm.
