I was told by a hairderesser last week that I shoud be using hairfood on the scalp to prevent it from drying out, whcih I did but today my scalp is very itchy, I cant stand it. Help please

I used shampoo 4 times (repeated applying 4 times in one wash) coz my hair was very oily and the flakes / dundruff was still sticcking to my hair. So I reapeated applying the shampoo until all the flakes were gone.

May be it could be blow drying: I only noticed the dry scalp after getting a blow dry from a hair dresser.

No I dont have lice.

Do you people think I might have scratched the scalp too much while combing out the flakes?

THE ITCHING ONLY STARTED AFTER I APPLIED THE HAIRFOOD TO THE SCALP

Sounds like your stytlist just wanted some easy money. When your scalp get s dry it itches and starts to flake. aka dandruff. You need to moisturize your scalp:

If your hair is dry don't wash them every day! Shampoo and hot water are the biggest moisture zappers there are!
<>First of all get a shampoo that is for animals and humans (I pesonally recommend Mane 'n Tail) So you can be sure that there are no chemicals.
<>Then, get a good hairmask. Use it every other month.
<>The months you don't use the hair mask pour oil on your hair in the shower and wash and condition as usual.
<>Every week put a mayo mixture and leave in over night. Wash it out in the morning.
Here is the Recipe:
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1 raw egg
1/8 cup extra virgin olive oil
Directions:
<>Mix together and slather on dry or wet hair.
<>Massage into your head for 5 minutes.
<>Put a shower cap on your head and a towel on your pillow.
<>Wash out in the morning.
(<>if you can't sleep with it leave it in for at least 1 hour and then wash out in the morning).

<>If you have oily hair pour lemon juice or vinigar on your hair instead of the oil.

****<>****Always do a final rinse in cold water. This will seal up the hair cutical and give you shine, and a lot less breakage.****<>****

That's way too much washing and it's no wonder that your scalp is drying out. You should have just rinsed in clear water until the flakes washed away.
If the 'hair food' is making your scalp itch, then stop using it. And I'd change hair dressers, too.
Head and Shoulders makes a product for Dry Scalp. It isn't your regular dandruff shampoo, it's for a dry scalp. And they've changed the formula a little so it's milder on your hair. You may want to try that and see if it works.

Without knowing whether or not you have actual dandruff, which is very itchy, somewhat painful, and looks like yellowish "crud", or what 99% of the American public has been convinced by Proctor & Gamble, creator of Head & Shoulders, is dandruff, which is actually just flakes just by scalp dryness, I'll have to just tell you both.

If it is actually Dandruff, which you should get a doctor to confirm, use either Neutrogena T-Gel or Phisoderm, unless the doctor directs you otherwise. If it is just flakes, which is what is depicted in Head & Shoulders commercials, then switching to a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner should eliminate it. Head & Shoulders shampoo is effective against persistent flakes, however, and if regular moisturizing products doesn't work, then try using the H&S shampoo followed by the moisturizing conditioner.

Wash your hair just every few days. Brush it often to get the dry skin off. You can put lotion and oils and creams on your scalp to soothe it. Blowdrying also dries out your scalp, so let your hair air dry. Did your stylist check for lice? I know that's gross, but if the iching doesn't go away, you might have it. Just have your mom or someone check for little white flecks that can't be easily removed from the strands of hair.

confident, confident confident!!! What are you questioning?? Come on, use some easy sense -- do the instructions say to bypass away it in or to rinse it out? Why do you think of they are asserting that? There are some which you would be able to bypass away on; they're extra like ending/smoothening rinses, yet that's how they're designed. something you positioned on your hair and bypass away on could have an effect on your hair. on occasion you elect the extra advantageous stiffness from the gels or mousses, and that's superb -- that's what they're made for. yet most of the 'conditioners' you have are oils and waxes -- which will in basic terms make your hair greasy and limp and charm to extra airborne dirt and dust. a number of them will cake on and dry growing to be flakes which will possibly not likely look very beautiful in any respect. whilst they are asserting to rinse out, all you elect to bypass away on the hair is a skinny movie that isn't crush the hair, or charm to too plenty airborne dirt and dust. a sprint is stable, too plenty is undesirable. For superb consequences, you will elect to have clean, wholesome hair with out lot of junk on it. in case you will use a conditioner, use something that's actually going to do something for you. Please carry on with instructions for use.

By shampooing your hair 4 times in one day, you are drying it out. Maybe you should try washing your hair every other day.
