The Russian name Vitaly, written looks Виталий, as you can see after "L" there are two "I' , the last is short and a little clipped. That make the pronunciation from a foreigner a bit difficult.
Actually the closest pronunciation is /Vit-ta- li:/,or if it is tough for you just prolong the last vowel "i" and Voila...It is close to your number 3.
Hope that is of help.
Have a great day!

I was Chava my school did Fiddler two years ago. I always pronounced the name like "Vee-et-ka". But with a school production as long as you have a close pronunciation I'm sure it won't matter much, especially if it's only for an audition.

I think it's number 3, with stress in the "a". But I'm not sure of this.

I think that "sunflower" has answered your question absolutely right. There is doubling of the last vowel "i".

3 is right! Not 2 ("Vitaly" is not like "Italy")

Russian names are usually pronounced as they are written. I know this is strange for English speaking people, but try.
