He has too big of a name for such a mediocre record.

we all need to come to terms here...This guy is a creation of bob arum, not a world class fighter. His best win was over Paulie Malignaggi. Please.

Cotto is a punk. I do like this fight with Quintanna but other than that he has not fought any great fighters. He was dropped by Corley then needed a hometown stoppage to secure the win. I mean who stops a fight when the fighter intentionally takes a knee?

You know what really bothers me about Cotto to is you will never hear him in an interview saying he wants to fight someone good. He will always say whatever his management wants him to fight. Unlike Hatton who was calling out Tszyu then landed the fight Cotto has no desire to fight the best.

Sanjoman ~
In my opinion, If Miguel Cotto is being "Protected" whoever is doing the protecting isn't doing a very good job. Cotto has gotten off the canvas on more than one occasion and totally dominated the person who put him there. Cotto improves with each and every one of his fights.

His quality of opposition has been pretty good considering there are recognizable names on his record and the competition has been stiff unlike other fighters that promoters are trying to pass off as great like Ricky Hatton who was taken to school by Miguel's former sparring partner Collazo.

Miguel is only getting better and he listen to his able corner, he doesn't disgrace the sport that feeds him inside or out side of the ring, he fights whoever is put in front of him and never has any excuses for his performance, good or bad. Miguel is a breath of fresh air in a era where boxing isn't quite up to par.

Thanks for the great question Sanjoman

Cotto being protected? I don't believe so. He's fought fighters with solid records. I hear Hatton's name being bantered around. If you want to talk about a protected fighter it's Ricky. Needs to leave his crib and fight the top competition in America. I must give him props, he is scheduled to fight in the U.S twice in the next year. Cotto is undefeated and progressing well. He gets better every fight, shows heart by being able to get off the canvas. Something he needs to work on is being tougher to hit.

Protected? Big name?
He is a loser, if he really wants to fight a good fighter he would but i think he doesnt want to risk it.
i would like to see him against Hatton or Castillo.
He would stand no chance
