Actually the island of Cyprus is divided into two, Greek part ( Southern Cyprus) and Turkish ( Northern Cyprus). From so many years there were severe conflicts between Turks and Greeks.
The official language is Greek, but eventually there is spoken Greek and Turkish.
Hope that is of help.
Have a great day!
