The ten commandments was in the old testament and was written in Hebrew. The Hebrew word for kill is 'ratsach'. It means to kill but in the sense of manslaughter or murder. So more accurately, the Hebrew translation would be 'Thou shall not murder'.

A crusade was then used to describe a religious campaign or 'holy war'. The interest in God's will played an important role in those military endeavors. The loss of life in that instance would be for a higher purpose. A Christian who goes to war should be doing so within the same principles in mind. The higher purpose.

A man who acts alone or in a group who takes a life for his own gain kills and that is murder. And it does not mention anywhere in my bible to kill anybody else who does not believe as I do. So if you disagree with this, you can. I shall not kill you.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

First of all, the crusades were done under false pretenses... in the name of "religion". The crusades were really done under the ruthless demands of an evil, greedy emperor.
And... if you would, just once, read the Bible for yourself... you'd realize that God commanded Israel to go to war or wipe out an entire nation more than once! Also, He commanded some individuals to likewise kill.
I'm not going to elaborate because if you're really interested in the Truth, you'll read the Bible for yourself and do your own research.
I hate it when people pull "ONE" thing out like "thou shall not kill" as if they know all about the ten commandments... or anything at all about what's in the Bible, or what it's about!?!?!

When God said thou Shalt not kill. He was talking about pre meditated murder. He uses wars to get rid of people that are evil, and don't believe. Read your Bible in the old testament. He used His own people to get rid of people who will never turn to Him, or who have hurt others. Some people go a little too far in their beliefs.

we are completely confusing the whole difficulty via watching the crusades as a Holy conflict. The marketing campaign have been initiated in the call of religion that's thoroughly distinctive to having a private relationship with the Lord. faith is guy-based along with his own regulations. a private relationship with God is God based So, can i, as a re-born Christian, justify the marketing campaign. the respond is obviously "NO".

Yeah, at one point there was this big discussion about the sword as the weapon of mass destruction. It was bad. Not just for Christians. As you can see by this board alone, the varying degrees of faith even within the varying degrees of faith. What about Joan of Arc? She literally talked the English out of a battle once. She hated conflict, but nevertheless, proceeded. Nobody likes killing other people.

Maybe they just let their horses ride over whoever,...yeah, that's the ticket!

Sometimes war is just; sometimes it's not. Simple as that. Read the bible, you can see for yourself.
BTW, everyone calling themselves Christian, are not. Don't forget that. Get to know Him and you will know the "sheep" from the "goats".

Why do agnostics steal if the law says its a crime?

Do you believe we are responsible for only ourselves? So do I. I wont justify the actions of people thousands of years ago for your amusement.

Hope you lose your anger sometime soon.
