Use of deadly force laws vary from state to state. Alabama has recently passed a law that greatly widens the parameters in which a citizen is authorized to use deadly force. Basically the use of force no longer has to be your last means of escape but there are still restrictions and I would suggest you consult your states criminal code to ascertain what your rights would be. While I am no vigilante either and I am a law enforcement officer if I am confronted by someone who I perceive to be an immediate threat to my physical well being (serious physical injury) or that the person might kill me or another individual I will use what means necessary to stop the threat. I don't want to kill anybody and pray that day NEVER comes, however, I would also rather face a jury of 12 than all of the bagpipes, 21 gun salutes, and my widow have a nice flag in a box! (And I've seen plenty of those to last a life time). As far as making an arrest is concerned, be very careful as you are not offered the same protection from liability as a law enforcement office is so you had better be absolutely sure that the person you place under arrest has actually committed the crime and that you have enough evidence to proved it. Remember, probable cause is all that is needed to obtain the warrant....beyond a reasonable doubt is what you need to prove it!!! Just be careful and if at all possible, leave the policing to the police. Just try to be a great witness...we definitely need many more of those.

The use of deadly force is only permitted when immediate life safety in question. What I mean by that is if you truly fear for your life or the life of another human then you can use deadly force, however after using deadly force don't be shocked to be arrested and taken in for questioning until the detectives determine that deadly force was appropriate.
To make a citizens arrest you must witness a felony happen. A felony varies state by state so you must be careful when doing this, however any time you fell that someone is immediate danger of losing there life you can make a citizens arrest or use deadly force.

Deadly force is only legal to defend youself or others against deadly force. And even then, it can only be used where the force would be sufficient and necessary to actually stop the original attack.
As far as citizen's arrest, that is raised as a defense (like self defense) to charges of assault, battery or false imprisonment. In other words, you need to commit the assault/battery/imprisonment, and then raise to defense to attempt to justify your actions.
While the laws vary by state, generally the defense can be raised where the person you stop is a known felon, and where allowing them to escape would pose a threat to the community. Unlike law enforcement officers, however, if you are mistaken you are still liable for the underlying assault/battery/imprisonment you did.

the U. S. shape promises non-voters on US soil the comparable rights as US voters. precise or incorrect that's a rule of regulation. the tale you published does not have plenty to do with the rights of a man or woman (confident, i recognize it has trappings of the 5th, 6th, and 8th modification) it bargains greater often than not with the criminal justice technique and the guidelines of the state in contact. in spite of this the guy became into needless to say a flight threat and could have been held without bond. that's not truthful i recognize yet while i became into in charge unlawful extraterrestrial beings does not prefer something to do with the U. S. anymore. this might have in no way occurred. Edit: i'm sorry however the cat contained in the question posed by the asker truthfully does not need to be taken care of greater effective then me. As for the illegals right here they do no longer seem to be entitled to any specific scientific care the two. they're right here i-l-l-e-g-a-l-l-y and might desire to be arrested and deported. in Louisiana a citizen is allowed to make an arrest when the offense is a felony and committed or is about to be committed in the presence of the one making the arrest. You are justified in using deadly force only if you or someone else is in immediate danger of being killed or seriously injured.
