It takes her forever to fall asleep and once she does, she can't stay asleep. She has tried sleeping pills like Lunesta and Ambien CR; and while they worked at first, they no longer do. I suggested warm milk as a joke but she's lactose intollerant. She's starting to go crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

The Homeopathic Remedy PASSIFLORA INCARNATA in mother tincture (Q) potency, 20 drops in about 2 sips of warm water half an hour before meals thrice a day will have her sleeping peacefully and without any harmful tranqulizers, she should keep on taking it till her insomnia is totally cured without any side effects or complications of any kind and its totally non addictive. If this does not helps after taking it for three days, give her NUX VOMICA 30 half an hour before bed time and ask her to lay down she will be asleep before she notices it :-). 100% relief without and comlications or side effects.
Take care and God Bless you

To be frank, you've got the wrong guy. He isn't meeting your needs for a boyfriend (needing affection, attention and such), and I question why you don't free yourself from him and find someone with whom you are more compatible (I swear he's out there). This guy is just not that into you, and you deserve someone who is. And I think he's a little - okay, a lot - immature. He pays you little attention, ignores you after sex, and gets all clingy when you make noises as if you're leaving. He wants whatever he can't have, and what he can have, he seems not to value highly. I'd be out of there, were I you - it's just not working for you, and never mind what he'[s feeling or not feeling - YOU'RE not happy, and that's your responsibility, to be happy. So take care of it, you know? If this relationship is hurting you, that's a signal that it's no good.

She probably suffers from insomnia. There are many options that she can consider:

1) drink warm milk before sleeping

2) wind down before sleeping

3) take melotonin to help

4) meditate before sleeping to calm nerves

5) try homeopathy

6) massage therapy to help soothe her nerves

7) do not nap in the afternoon

8) exercise regularly

She needs to see a doctor, she may have a sleep disorder like Sleep Apnea or developing Narcoleptic. Taking sleeping pills could make these conditions worse. I've had problems with insomnia in the pass, and I used to take the drug mentioned in one of the other answers, Melatonin, and while it did help me sleep, it also gave me nightmares. It is known to cause bad dreams, and that made sleeping worse for me cause I wouldn't want to go back to sleep. So I wouldn't suggest taking Melatonin.

She has insomnia. The best cures for this are not drugs though. It's a regular sleeping rutine and less strees. Things to do include:

Don't do "awake activities" in bed like work or such
Go to bed 15 minutes early each night for a week.
Stay in bed when she wakes up in hte middle of the night. Turn out lights earlier so the sleeping chemical in your body can produce better.
Try and relax more. Less stress helps a lot.

Hope some of those help

Tell her to go to the doctor. There are alot of very serious problems if she is not able to sleep well. Sleep Apnea is one of the many problems she could have that would cause that. A doctor would definately be your best bet.

And before I forget, try not to get her addicted to sleeping pills...That makes everything a million times worse.

Suggest her to try Melatonin. It was originally used for long distant flight travelers/agents to help readjust to time change. It is a hormone that causes the brain (natural in people) to 'shut off'. Perhaps she lacks this natural hormone in a correct quantity or at the bedtime of her choice or could be because of her lifestyle habits. Anyway, it works if you rest your head within the 20 mins of taking it. Try GNC stores.
It's not habit forming and no side effects and she should wake easily and refreshed. Peace.

I've had personal experience with this problem. Sometimes for me some soft music in the back might help, because i just drift off instead of thinking so much. Usually my problem is that i think way to much when its time for me to sleep, so try something that will distract her from thinking to much, something to relax her.
