It is better to go for the field that someone else tells you to and then later find out you don't have the aptitude for it and drop out.

Study what you are good at. There is always a place for a good engineer. I like Biomedical as it has great application especially in the aging and health conscious environment. Mechanical is not bad if you into defenses and air planes (Boeing is doing great). Too much competition oversea for computer engineering, I am too hot about municipal employers so I don't like Civil

Civil eng. is that field you can not spend or enjoy fully in ur domastic life.Engineering e.g Aeronatical,IT,electronics and comminication etc etc and also electric is not having a small field but as of ur thinking u go for electric eng. .All the engineering branches have better job opportunities.

According to future demand of market biochemical & cse are the best option for doing engg.

Electronics and communications engineering
u can do computers side by sidev in some good institutes don't go for computer engineering as the field is limited. with ECE it is better as u will be knowing both.

In terms of pay packages: CS, EE and Telecom are doing great
Though if you get into IIT or NIT, the field shouldn't matter .. even if you are in Chem or Aero, you can do wonderful research!

CS, ECE, IT, Mechanical, Civil, Mining, Auronautical that is my preferance list.

In terms of knowledge base its definitely mechanical. In terms of earnings and excitement the others.

it is better to go for a aptitude test and find that wheather you can go for the course or not??

also in case you want to pursue, then find your interest first.. you may like mechanics but may choose electronics for reasons like better pay etc etc..

ECE,Mechanical and computer science engineering are good. Aeronautical has a good future.
