Read Leviticus 11

If you don't have a bible at home use this website http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus%2011%20;&version=31;

God told the Israelites what animals He approved of them eating. Science is just now learning the whys and wherefores. Most of the creatures listed as unclean have high levels of colesterol which leads to heart disease. Many have diseases that are only just now being controlled by vaccines and medicines. These dietary laws were given to prevent the people from eating food that might harm them.
And it goes back long before the book of Leviticus.
When the animals were going into the ark they were already listed as clean or unclean by God so this is not just something to be discarded because Jesus came to earth.
See Genesis 7, a lot of people miss this point. There were seven of the clean animals and only two of unclean. So, God classified the animals long before Moses was born. These are not superfluous words such as were written telling people they could only walk so far on the Sabbath, and they shouldn't light a fire. Those rules (I don't call them laws because they were written by sadducees) were not from God but from men who foolishly thought they could work their way into heaven. There is a big difference between manmade law and Gods laws.

Many people use the experience of Peters' vision to say it's okay to eat everything. But Peter explained that vision as meaning all people were clean and it was acceptable to socialise with them. He NEVER interpreted that vision as actually cleansing all animals.

What's more, people who say that vision means all animals are clean are two faced in that they don't normally eat oppossum, skunk, snakes, rats, mice. SO, you see even they still make some of their own distinction between clean and unclean.

REST MY CASE.........

Seventh-day Adventists do not believe in once saved, always saved. They believe that the Christian journey requires an on going and continuing relationship with Christ. Galatians is not talking about abolition of laws, it is talking about salvation by grace and not legalism. The Bible also reminds us: "or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price, therefore glorify God in you body and in your spirit, which are God's" 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20 Pigs are known to be the real garbage consumers. They will eat urine, excrement, maggots, decaying animal flesh/vegetables. They don't sweat, so can't remove the toxins buildup from their bodies which remain in the meat. Their meat can be 30 times more poisonous than beef. They are also carriers for various parasites such as tape worms. Do you really think that introducing that kind of food into your system is treating your body as a temple? This is why Seventh-day Adventists don't eat pork. Not only does the Bible advise against it in Leviticus 11:7,8 and Deuteronomy 14:8 but modern science does too. You can eat pork if you want to, but I will follow the advice of the Bible. God seem's to know what he's talking about.

Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 both provide guidelines about the kinds of meat which were acceptable and the ones which were not. Essentially, the unclean meats are not healthful, which is the reason God forbad them. Many diseases are still prevalent today from the use of these meats.

Shellfish, shrimp, etc. eat the detritus (garbage) which is floating around in the water. How can they be clean, when they are basically garbage collectors? And have you ever observed how pigs live? The very word "pig" or "swine" has negative connotations in the English language because of it. Most people would not like to eat cockroaches for some of the same reasons of cleanliness.

As far as the comments many have about the Old Testament versus the New, I would remind you that the Ten Commandments are only given in complete form in the Old Testament, yet they are considered as God's unchanging law. If these commandments were "nailed to the cross," why do we still hold the laws against murder, adultery, thievery, etc. to be currently applicable?

Seventh-day Adventists respect the Bible in its entirety, both the Old and New Testaments. And both Testaments give a high value to living healthfully, and to treating our bodies as belonging to God.

Those creature is unclean. Can u eat snake or tiger? God never change His Law and Word from bible. People change because they love world life other than life after death. God sacrifices himself that why the Truth Christian stop use animals for sacrifices. Pigs meat carry a lot of bacteria. You can't kill that worm even you boils its meat..

Yes, there are Old Testament prohibitions against pork and shellfish (as well as a number of other things). These things belong to what the Apostle Paul and the writer of Hebrews called the "old covenant." However, the New Testament records Jesus ushering in a New Covenant by his blood which radically changes the basis upon which men and women now relate to God. Jesus and the writers of the New Covenant make several clear and sweeping statements that show that any conditioning of our relationship with God based on food or celebratory practice is wrong. Please note these very clear statements:
Jesus (as recorded in Mark 7:18-19)
<<18And He said to them, "Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, 19because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared all foods clean.) >>

The Apostle Paul (Colossians 2:16-17)
<<16Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-- 17things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.>>

1 Timothy 4:1-4

The main reason SDA continue to hold to Old Covenant teachings is because they esteem the 'revelations' of the founding Prophetess Ellen G. White over the clear teaching of Jesus and the apostles. That is their prerogative, but they need to admit that and stop trying to force the Bible to fit Ellen White.

Because God said it was Taboo in the Old Testiment.

I don't think Jesus would eat a Ham Sandwich or a Shrimp Cocktail.

My friend, it is as if they still believe on those old testerment laws that prohibits children og the living God from eating uncircumsised meets. They have failed to realise that the comming of the son of man, his blood on the cross has abolished all those noncence.

It is also possible that they do not want to grow fat. You know pigs and shellfish have plenty of oil. Any way they do not know what they are missing. Lets leave them to their ignorance.
