The thing you have to understand is that "Search and Rescue" is not really a job title in itself. In the Surface Navy, SAR swimmer is a collateral duty (something you do on top of your regular job.) You have to be very in shape and commit to a very demanding school to learn the tricks of the trade. I see you are getting your degrees. Good on ya, but if you actually want to get in the water to fish people out, don't expect to do that much as an officer, as the enlisted guys are the SAR swimmers. You can however, become a helicopter pilot and that will be just one of many things you do. With any job expect to take the good with the bad.

He didn't do anything much except for being the President. The credit should go to the Navy Seals. Don't steal from the military. If you want to kiss Obama's ****, just wait until he really does a good deed.

Depends on you.

Sounds like you're smart enough. If you are also phycially tough, mentally disciplined and have the tenacity to see it through tothe end and pehaps to becoem physically tough and mentally disciplined along the way, you'll do fine.

since one of the Coast Guard's primary missions is SAR, consdier them instead. Navy SAR is limited to fewer ratings and opportunities overall.

Not really, if you're physically fit and disciplined. There's more oportunities in the Coast Guard though; you may want to consider that.

Your nearest recruitment office should be able to give you an idea on how easy or hard it would be.
Good luck with your studies
