I was seriously wondering this as my boyfriend and I got a kitten and he was born in april so he isnt quite a year old yet, but anyway, I got him a cat stocking (which is filled with toys) and gave him about 6 at the same time to see which one he would like best. He played with them for about 30 seconds then walked away. Is too many too much?

Never, cats are very picky some times, they play on there own evry now and than, but they luv it most when their owners start playing with them. You shud try it, you'll hav lots of fun. and about the tooo many toys thing, if anything, it would prevent your cat from playng with shoes and your belongings!!

Yes they can. Cats need stimulation and by giving him so many at once he didn't really know what to do with them all. Try giving him one or two at a time and changing them weekly. Also cats love to play with you or than on their own some make some simple toys that you can play with him. fan some paper and try string in the middle so it looks like a bow tie. dangle it in front of him and let him chase it . remember to let him catch it come times.

An old pair of gloves the string tied to them. Put the glove on and dangle the string and watch him play.

Some cats can even be taught to fetch. It takes time and patients but the reward can be hours of fun.

I have two cats, and I've found that with both of them, they only really like one toy at a time. More than two is a distraction and they seem to just get bored with the whole thing.

As my husband always says, you can never have too many toys. But I do think that poor kitty is a little overwhelmed with all of the stuff you got him. Just give him one or two at a time and rotate them with new ones once in awhile. That will keep him interested.

i found the best cat toy to be get a ball of aluminum foil and tie a string around it and tie the other end of the string to a stick. you hold the stick and use it like a cat fishing pole. cat toys bought in stores don't interest cats that much. i think everyone goes through tthis with their first cat though.

No, but they still pick their favourites and it might not be the toy from the shop. My cat has an obsesion with leaves, brings in a couple a day and usually ignore her toys.

She also loves pens, headphones, wrappers - I rest my case.

Not really Cats get bored easily so a variety is a good thing PS things that move tend to keep them entertained

why spend too much on your kitten when you could spend that on the two of you, give the cat a ball or something, the best spend is that you play with 'em
