No. It's political suicide for anyone who really presses for the bill to pass.

yea cause the way the bill is set is we will have something similar to Israel conscription law. all men between ages 18 and 26 must serve for something like 2 years long. the all volunteer military is a joke it consist of the poor and lower educated class of society.
If congressmen and congresswomen have to worry about there children going to war or the children's children going they might be more logical thinking about going to war or allowing a president to do what he did.

plus one other thing i really don't care if a draft is reinstated because i cant get drafted because i have 2 felony's. You'll never hear of prisons being emptied for a war. It has never happened and never will. One thing is for sure this country is good at is imprisoning. With over 2 million of its citizens in prisons. But the good thing is i can still legally vote in my state and in presidential elections. THE GOVERNMENT DOES EXTENSIVE DISENFRANCHISMENT on its own people. ( For you retards out there that don't know what disenfranchisement means. It means not being able to vote. The state i am in did not allow me to vote while i was incarcerated or on paper. I got it back when i got off paper.

At current levels of incarceration newborn black males in this country have a greater than a 1 in 4 chance of going to prison during their lifetimes, while Hispanic males have a 1 in 6 chance, and white males have a 1 in 23 chance of serving time. 3/97 NCJ

I don't see it happening. I understand the concern of young people who are draft age eligible, though.

All of my older male cousins worried about being drafted during the Vietnam War.

No I don't. Although Rep. Rangel makes a good point of stating that if the draft was reinstated perhaps we would not be in the mess in Iraq.

No, there's no way it'll pass. This will be the third time he's introduced something like this. I understand his intentions, it would mean that everyone would have the possibility of serving, not just those that don't have Congressmen for fathers. However, it would be an poor idea to do, and he's just making a point.

If we keep leaning on Iran and if there are plans in the works for attacking syria or Lebanon.... yes.....

They would have to.....

The current populace of the military branches will not sustain a force that can handle a war with those countries......

It should be. But god forbid a bunch of whinny, lazy turds actually be something more than a drag on society. I dont agree with this dumb war either, but one day there's going to be a serious one and without good training with this one, we're in for a world of hurt

i hope not....even if it did pass, the countrys support for the war would mean that half the country would be in jail for refusing to fight.
