all i know is that its imported from the southern dead sea (bokek)
dead sea salt, is unrefined and is suppose to be good for spa treatments, and therapeutic in baths and scrubs.
it is suppose to relax you and relive skin and rheumatic disorders,
and is also used as a raw material in the cosmetic industry

Salt is a natural healer and Dead Sea salt contains a higher level of sodium than regular salt, so its benefits are greater. I use it, and it makes the skin amazingly soft and healthy

Depends on what products you are buying... if its from some mall keosk, with a guy trying to sell you this stuff for your hands and nails (I think the company is called dead sea spa) don't buy it, a room mate of mine in college and I were out shopping one day with way too much money in our pockets, and they guy offered us a demo...and to be honest it looked great, and felt great after he did it.. but continued use ruined my nails... it was bad news...

Not sure, but I know it contains minerals that are good for you that are not found in normal iodized salt. Also Tibetan salt is the same from the country it contains minerals that normal salt does not contain, I tasted it and it is good you can buy it at whole foods or any health food store.
