I get your drift, have run into some individuals like this in more than one religion, actually. Try to gently and respectfully tell them this offends you. If that doesn't work, I usually say " judge not, lest you be judged" (it is in the Bible, right?) One religions "Word" may be different from another's, I believe all people deserve respect, so try to "Let it go" if someone is insistent and tell them"excuse me, but I do not discuss religion in this way." It sounds like you don't want to. Everyone has a right to their own beliefs, but not to disrespectfully insist on forcing their beliefs on anyone or everyone else. (My own opinion, only.) Hope this helps you, it's a reasonable question that I have heard more than once, and have been subjected to by some, and not by others of similar faiths. Maybe you can set an example for loving tolerance of all others rights, including (especially) your own.

Well we are suppose to try to save our brothers from the fire. Saying "hey I don't think you should do that" isn't judging. Saying " your going to hell for what you are doing and God is very unhappy with you right now" is judging. It sounds like you may be putting up a wall. Some people will try to help you, but they may give you advice you don't want to hear.

I find its the words they use as well. I mean if you call people wicked, evil ext just for not believing in the same thing. Obviously this is going to cause conflict from the start. I think they should be more tactful with their approach for a start. It would be more more "christ-like" to approach people with tact and dignity. The person they are using nasty names to could be one of the nicest people on earth but just don't believe the same, which is their right. How do they know for certain theirs is the right god anyway. Anybody who believes in an afterlife is going to say theirs is right, and all the others are wrong anyway.

Have you read this passage?
Matt 7:1-5
1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
I think the people you mention need to read Matthew chapter 7 themselves! -- At least the first 5 verses...

Because they are! What good does it do to be a saved Christian & keep the truth to yourself?
If you don't share God's laws on all subjects in life, then you are as responsible as the wrongdoers themselves when they end up in Hell!
A christian is not judging anyone when they tell the truth! They are obeying God! He has already judged certain acts & beliefs as wrong. The christian is just obeying Him,so we don't end up there too,but mainly because we love souls & want all to be happy & live free in Jesus!
A true christian does not use force or violence to change another, but speaks the truth in love.

I think that most of them might think be cause they have been saved they are more informed then the ones that have not been saved and are really just trying to help.
that and there are the ones that think they are above the rest of the ones that have not been saved and it is there job to show them the right way of things.

We Christians are told to warn the sinners of his evil ways.
We are obeying our Father. We are not judging ,God alone is the judge.
We are telling you what the Bible tells us to do.
We love Jesus and we do what is ask of us.
If you knew the Word ,then you would know that these things have already been judged.
We do not enjoy people going out of their way to speak evil of us.
But for Jesus we take the abuse.

I guess sometime the truth hurts. And . . . . the advice and teaching of those who 'judge' are so touching on the sore part of others, so they are deem to be judgemental.
But I do feel that some are zealous. . . . I am one myself, sometime, most of the time perhaps.

I think it is a response of every person who hears something he doesn't want to hear to say to that person "You are judging me" I'm sure you think I'm judging you now. Like Paul Simon said "All lies in jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest"

Rationalization. They realize deep down they are judging, though they were told by Jesus not to & thus they know it to be morally wrong, so they convince themselves they are "just offering advice."
