without antibiotics the strep will hang around longer, and with 4yr old child you need to get antibiotics. also don't share drinks with her or you may pass the bacteria. it is likely that a cheap antibiotic like amoxicillin or bactrim ds could kill the strep, and both of these medications are cheap, should be able to get them
<20$ or so without insurance. tell your doctor that you would prefer generics so he doesn't write you a brand name product unless absolutly necessary. i would also buy a new toothbrush on day 3 of antibiotic therapy to decrease your chance of getting re-infected. take all the antibiotics until they are gone, and you can use OTC stuff for fever or throat pain. God Bless.

Get a bright flashlight and look at your throat in a mirror. If your throat is bright cherry red you could have strep. It could resolve on it's own, but it is highly contagious, especially to children. Try gargling with listerine, then follow with warm salt water to soothe the pain. Keep taking your temp. If it doesn't go down in 3 days you really should see a Dr. Is there a public health clinic anywhere you can get to? Perhaps there is a Dr. or urgent care clinic that will take you on a sliding scale? Strep throat can escalate into Scarlet or Rheumatic fever. If you develop diarrhea, high fever, (over 103), extreme exhaustion , or halucinations it is SERIOUS! Make sure you check your daughter's throat EVERY DAY for the cherry red, blisters, yellow or white spots, etc. Good Luck.

Strep throat can be very contagious. However, it will go away on its own within 3 to 7 days, but antibiotics decrease how contagious it is. WebMD offers excellent information on the topic, including treatment options. I have included the link.

Strep throat is highly contagious and can lead to a serious heart valve problem if not treated.

This is not one of those things you wait out. See a doctor immediately. Go to a county hospital ER if lack of insurance/money is an issue.

Its Strep Throat, i have had it many many times, no you cannot die from it, its nothing that serious, all though if you get it enough times they may want you to get your tonsils removed, but that is the worse that can happen, and always take the antibiotics unless your doctor advises differently. Don't worry you have nothing to fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Step throat can be deadly. I guess that's what you get when someone steps on your throat.

Strep throat is less serious. Let someone else take care of your daughter for a little bit. Make sure antibiotics will treat a strep throat- if it doesn't, don't take them, you will only be creating more resistant strains of bacteria.

You must get antibiotics if you have strep throat. It can lead to other more serious problems, like rheumatic fever. Go to the doctor. Don't wait.

yes you can go without the anitbotics but it will take longer to get better and you will be contagious. I have had strep so many times in my life i can say I know what i am talking about lol. It will take about a week for you to START feeling better.. Usually for me even with antibiotics it takes about 3 or 4 days to get back to being human. it's no fun. good luck
