I don't want to have any freaking clue what is going on. Will valium do the trick, or is it just going to make me sleepy?

(...there's no good reason for ANYTHING to be above 30,000 feet)

Talk to your doctor. Something like valium, xanax, ativan ect. would do the trick. You might feel a little bit sleepy but, there's nothing wrong with sleeping during a flight especially if it's a long one! If you've never taken an anti-anxiety drug before, you might want to take one just to see how you react before your flight. I was once given 1 mg of ativan (not very much!) and I got hyper and excited. I'm not sure how that works but, the anxiety was definitely gone but, my behavour was definitely not airplane appropriate.

Benadryl - take Benadryl and not only will you sleep for most of the adventure but you will avoid the risk of unpleasant stuffy head. I have heard this recommendation to help children get through airplane rides - many mother's swear by it.

Peace!

There are OTC drugs for motion sickness which have a sedating affect. I don't think you should take Valium

I'd recommend xanax if you are able to get a prescription...it is very calming and helps with anxiety and panic attacks.

Haha. I sometimes think that too when flying *this is not natural*. Try having a glass of wine or 2.
