Plenty of rest before leaving is most effective. Snacking is good, but avoid heavy meals just before leaving or while on the road since the digestive process will make you drowsy.

Sugary stuff will give you a quick boost, but will wear off fairly quickly leaving you as tired or even more tired than before. Caffeine promotes short-term alertness. It takes about 30 minutes for caffeine to begin working so the best thing to do is pull over for a coffee or other caffeinated beverage, take a short nap, and then get back on the road. Keep in mind that caffeine won’t have much of an effect on people who consume it regularly.

I often had this problem when I was traveling to the next town to work nights at a club, when I would drive home sometimes I have so tired I was afraid I would fall asleep.

Usually I would drink a sugar free red bull or something to help me stay up. Little gummie candies help too, you can suck on them and that keeps your mind alert. Also sometimes I would turn my music up load, roll the window down to let in cold air andkind of move in my seat like I was dancing, crazy sounding I know, but it helps keep awake.

I do not reccomend driving while tired. It can be very dangerous.

So I quit that job because I was afraid that I would fall asleep at the wheel by accident, it is so scary.

each and all the concepts you get would be for caffeine or supplementations. no longer a great theory, the dependability is suspect, diverse human beings have diverse tolerances, and a few human beings have further well being unfavourable aspects that those issues can convey forth. there is not any replace for a rested motive force. no longer something! attempt going out to the motor vehicle approximately 2 hours till now each and every person is in a position to leave and having your self a quiet nap. in case you get sleepy jointly as using, pull right into a relax area or roadside employer to stretch and stroll around, or capture a snooze. permit somebody else spell you in the back of the wheel in case you go with, taking shifts.

get a good nights rest. listen to the radio while driving. at rest stops dab cold water on your face and get some candy or coffee or something. if you have passengers play some road games like there is an alphabete game where you start from the letter "a" and go down to the letter "z" so like you seen a sign that says "apples, there yummy there the best in the west." you can call out "a" for apples and "b" for best and so on and so on but you have to go in order for the game to be interesting. also if you see the vw bugs on the road you can say "dibit" and the color and you get points for that and if you call it out and its not a vw bug you get a "-2" from your score so if you see a blue vw bug just call out "dibit blue." If you are driving with your boyfriend or husband theres a really neat game to play if you see a big 18 wheeler on the road at night and if he has missing lights on the truck or they went out or something you can call "sex" and what that does for each truck you call you get 5 points and at the end of the game if you have like 30 points or whatever your partner has to do something in bed that you like for 30 minutes and its whatever you desire. But if its just you than music works the best and alot of cold air on you to keep you awake and if you start getting tired while on the road pull over and take a breath and grab some water definatly take plenty of water with you so you constantly have to use the bathroom that normally helps you to focuse better. Good Luck and i hope this helps.

Well it's always good to be fully rested before starting out on your trip.

Listening to upbeat music and loudly helps.

You should bring a friend with you too. Not only can the other person help keep you awake, but you can split the driving too.

Oh, and make sure you keep your energy up. Don't forget to eat regularly. Calories=energy.

Windows down, radio up loud and gobs and gobs of methamphetamine!!!! Seriously, having done field sales for a while now, keep the car cool, play the radio and pull off into a rest stop if you're really getting drowsy. If you get to the point that you aren't sure how you've gotten so far along and you can't keep your car in your lane, you need sleep.

if you really won't take some time to stop make sure you turn the a/c on very cold. Even if you stop for a few min and walk around that could help wake you up. I don't drink coffee/soda and have taken many road trips by myself.

Pull over and sleep. There is no good way to stay awake. It is very dangerous and many people loose their lives because of it.

Have a rest every 2 hours.... even if it is just stopping your car and getting out to have a bit of a stretch. Also try and get plenty of sleep the night before.
