Asparagus and artichokes are not the same vegetables.

Artichokes are about the size of your fist. It's fuzzy on the inside, but the leaves on the outside have thorns on them, so when cooking, be sure to cut off the tips of the leaves first. They are two completley different vegetables and both are delicious and expensive too I might add.
