I've read that you really only need to worry about counting calories. Now my question is does it matter what type it is? Because I have seen the conversion charts for proteins, fats, and carbs, but does the type really matter? I thought that each just contained the same kind of calorie but different amounts.

Yes it does matter where you get your calories from. You need to eat a well balanced diet. You dont want to get all your calories from junk food.

Make sure you are eating enough protein, fruits/veggies, dairy. Cutting out healthy foods are not god for you.

Here is a website that is very helpful with counting calories. It tracks all your calories. It is www.fitday.com Here is another website that is great for support www.webmd.com Good luck in your journey to weightloss. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Never ever starve yourself, you will only do more harm to your body. People see numbers on the scale drop real quickly on the scale when they restrict their calories to low numbers but as soon as you start eating again you body will just double the weight back again. Its not worth it. Also 1-2lb weight loss per week is in a very healthy range to lose.

Please seek your doctors approval before starting any diet plan.

Hi,
I've tried all different diets, and the weight loss is only temporary. I finally tried diet pills on the market are made from Hoodia. I saw this stuff on ABC News. It's all natural and safe, and it works! My wife took it for a month and dropped 20 pounds. I took it for a month and lost about 13 (but I didn't exercise).

I bought the natural hoodia from this website: http://www.alllsite.info/free-diet-pills.php . I checked the web site address so I can post it here and I saw they're running a promotion now to get a free 2 week sample for only $4.97! I'm going to order this supply for my wife and give it to her for Christmas =)

My personal experience and the research I have done indicates that is DOES matter.

For example, if you are getting your calories from a candy bar, two things will happen. First of all, your blood sugar will skyrocket, causing your body to produce loads of insulin. The large dose of insulin brings the blood sugar levels way down quickly, making you hungry so you eat more. Secondly, there are no nutrients in the candy bar, so your body will be craving more food becuase it isn't getting enough nutrition.

On the other hand, if you are getting your calories from non-starchy vegetables you will be getting plenty of nutrition (more than you can get from grains BTW), a lot of fibre, and you can eat loads more veggies for the amount of calories.

If you are getting your calories from meat, you are also getting loads of nutrition, plus protein and fat are proven to be more satiating, so you naturally consume less calories when on a low-carb/adequate protein/high-fat diet. You are also getting more benefit from the nutrients which require fat for absorption. Another benefit is that fat requires more energy for your body to utilize it than carbohydrate does, so if you consume equal calories of fat and carb, you burn more calories digesting the fat.

So it's not only calories, quality is important too.

Calories are the same. It's a measure of how much energy is burned or stored. Fat calories are stored easier though, that's why carbs are better to eat.
