i really think so! Once you are past the college years you know more of who you really are and what you need/want! You are an adult, go for it!

Are you mature enough to handle the excess baggage a guy almost twice your age? If so, age is just a number. Depends on the individual and how you work together. Some 42 year olds aren't mature and only act 26. If this is a long term idea I would definately weigh it out, With his age what has he accomplished? Will he be a good provider? IF it is just a good time hang out and come what may. I wouldn't really worry much.

Most of the answer to this question depends on the maturity level of both parties. If you were 16 and he were 26 that would not be a good age spread, but purely due to the maturity and life experience levels. As we get older we tend to get closer in maturity age, if not year age. So hearing of a couple who are 35 and 50 is not shocking, whereas hearing about a couple who are 16 and 30 is.
Just out of curiousity, why do you mention the "age well" thing? It sounds like you, or someone is concerned about his appearance, which makes the whole thing sound a bit shallow.

As far as it being acceptable in general, I say that as long as you two have something in common, why not? It's nobody's business how old he is or how old you are as long as you two make it work and it's a balanced relationship.
However, if you get serious, like marriage-type serious, age will matter. My parents are 19 years apart. That wasn't a huge deal when they were younger, but right now my Dad is retired and my mom is in her early forties. My dad wants to go to bed early, get up early, he gets sick easier, he gets tired easier, etc. So, logically, someday there will be a huge gap in your interests and your abilites that will probably make you feel like you need someone a little closer to your own age.

What does the fact that he's black have to do with the age difference?? I think you're old enough to date someone older... I mean if you were 15 it would be weird but if you really like each other then go with it.

Once above 18 it is OK to date anyone. Age only matters to those who are immature and unconfident. Age is a number that lets us know about our mortality. It does not define what we are or who we are.

If that's what floats your boat, go for it. Just remember, regardless of race, as men age they lose stamina and other sexual things. So, if you want a man that can keep up with you, you'd be better finding one closer to your own age.

wow this really reminds me of my dad and my step mom...my dad is like 55 and my step mom just turned 30. Just make sure he's not going through a recent divorce, or is going through a mid life crisis.
