Call Internal Affairs if it is local. If it is federal cal Office of Internal Audit. Unless it is a supervisor or higher. If that is the case you are wasting your breath. In the last two days I have placed two calls to OIA regarding two different FOS's of the Border Patrol. Nothing was done. As a matter of fact they were called on their cell phones and given a "heads up". so just be careful. The federal will be very vindictive. They wanted to know what station my husband worked out of. They were more concerned with that then the supervisors breaking policy.

Officers breaking the law is a very rare occurance. If you witness a crime of any type, you should report it! Officers are human like anyone else. So, they can make mistakes and sometimes costly ones. But I'm not on a mission to attack the very people who are protecing us from criminals. Only report it if you are 100% sure that you know what you're talking about! These men and women deserve the benefit of the doubt, unless you actually witness it! A police officer in a town close to mine was arrested for drug possesion. So, it does happen! And most men and women in uniform hate it when one of their own breaks the law. Cause it reflects on everybody.

Well it all depends on what exactly that officer was doing.
If you feel that it is serious enough to report and you have the license plate or name of the officer the best thing to do is to call the police station and ask to speak to that officer's superviser.
One time an officer entered my house because a neighbor said that there was loud music and drugs going on. "The neighbor was just a nosey jerk"
So the neighbor and the cop came in and I came home about halfway thru their search. The cop said that he knew that there was drug use going on because he could smell marijuana so he came in. Well obviously I kicked them out and called up his superviser and proceeded to royally chew his ass out and threaten litigation. Didn't have much problems from then on.

Not much except report him! I would not report him to the police, but to the civilian agency that the police reports to, whether it be a Mayor or someone else!
Send it to the police and nothing will get done! We had a cop rape another cops wife while he was working! He was never charged nor did it hit the papers. He was allowed to resign and no charges were ever brought. He sold cars!
You can't make a citizens arrest! If you do and try and detain him, you are kidnapping him!

no one is above the law.......but if the officers only went the regular speed too many people could die...they need to get their quick...If they do something wrong they have to face internal affairs and some do get kicked off the force.

Get the unit number, and call the police. Ask for his supervisor and report it. Believe me, they DO follow up on complaints against officers (and civilians)

I was at the emergency room. I saw a police man in Greer S.C.hitting on a man who was bleeding on a stretcher.I knew him from childhood. a real evil little ****.I got up and told him that he knew me, and he knew when I say something I mean it, and I told him he had better stop hiting that man. as he left he said I am going to get you. if he had every pulled me I am sure he would have killed me. and said I pulled a pistol on him, they all carry extra pistols for things like that, they had a lot of young boys Hung in there jail cells.during the time this policeman was there.a lot of policemen wont to be policemen for the power it gives them, there like long rangers, but evil ones sometimes.you cant do much at all unless you get it on tape.and then they might do something like kill you for telling. and showing the tape. you put your life in there hands when you mess with them.

Report the incident to his or her superior, do it anonymously if possible, but remember everyone makes mistakes, I am sure you have in the past.
