I reported a child molester to the authorities. I was very unhappy with the way they responed to me! The dispatcher was like, okay? what do you want us to do about it? I felt like saying "what the **** do you think I want you to do about it". Was I wrong in calling the police? should I have called child protection instead? Or what should I have done? I hate people who abuse children. As I was once a victim myself. These people do not deserve to be walking the streets! They need to be put away! I cried. Because of the pain I know this young girl is suffering!

I think it would be unfair to blame the entire organization for this. But I feel the dispatcher was the one at fault here! I don't think that the officers themselves would have liked what that dispatcher said to me. I have a long distance block on my phone, and our local police department is long distance. So I had to dial 911 mabe it was the fact that I dialed 911 that aggrivated the dispatcher.

I would file a complaint about the dispatcher. No dispatcher should ever say something like that... is she/he crazy???!!! When it happens again, call the police again AND child protective services.

I don't know where you live, but police officers do NOT answer the phones at any department around here. Dispatchers do. They are office workers, not police. They have no badge numbers, no authority, and no police training.

You did nothing wrong by calling the authorities. You unfortunately got an ignorant dispatcher. There are idiots to be found in all jobs. I would call the police department you originally contacted and ask to speak with the watch commander. Let him/her know your concerns and explain what happened before. I would also call child protective services.

The dispatcher was WRONG to respond to you that way, and you should file a complaint with the Internal Affairs dept.

That said, you can call Child Protective Services and report the situation.
If you called 911, we have to get you off the line as quick as we can.
Usually, 911 and the regular lines are answered by the same operators, but the 911 lines have to be kept clear for immediate
( life or death) situations.

Well my question is did you call 911? If you did and the act of molestation wasn't happening at that moment, then the dispatcher probably trying to get you off the phone.
Calling 911 is reserved for emergencys and even things like child molestation (if it is not happening at that moment) you shouldn't call 911 over.

You did the right think; the officer is in the wrong. Call and report the information to this organization, as well as the officer, or his department and inform them of his response and his actions towards you.

The worst thing you could do to a young victim of sexual assault is to not take action. Yet less than 35% of all child molestation cases are ever reported to law enforcement. So when a child does summon the courage to disclose to you, it's vitally important to listen, believe, understand and act. To report child sexual exploitation, call the police. Then call us at 800.843.5678 or contact us at http://www.cybertipline.com/. Sexual assaults on children occur daily. So when a victim does come forward, remember that your actions speak much louder than words.

First of all, let me just say that I absolutely commend you for taking a stand and getting involved. In no way were you wrong for trying to help out. I agree that anyone who harms a child in any way, shape, or form does not deserve to breath. I would try child protection services. While you're at it, try filing a complaint with the police department. Have them know that they made you feel like you were doing something wrong, when in fact you were trying to help out a child. Good luck with everything.

I think that the dispatcher was wrong in the way he handled the situation, but continue to try to report any further child abuse incidents.Don't be discouraged by this one incident.

I would suggest you to go Kebajikan Masyarakat and lodge a complain there, then Jabatan Masyarakat will definetlly ask u to go to Juvenile Court (Mahkamah Jalan Raja) Court 6. Then with letter frm Welfare u fixed a date with the court. Then the court will decide where to send the child, normaly if i not mistaken in KL the Juvenile Home - Asrama Bahagia Kampung Pandan (girls) as for boys -Sekolah Tunas Bakti & Asrama Sentosa in Sentul.

You definitely need to call child services! Poor kids! AND you need to call and report the cop if you know who it was or the badge number. That is ridiculous what he said to you! You really need to call child services like asap! Thanks for being such a good person and not just letting it go! We need more people like you out there!!!!!!
