I suggest all natural NutriFeron. It's a patented, clinically proven blend of immune-strengthening plant extracts. Taken daily, NutriFeron strengthens immune response by boosting the body's natural interferon.

Dr. Kojima who discovered interferon in 1954 spent 40 years searching for a natural interferon booster. The result was the proprietary botanical blend in NutriFeron the only dietary supplement in the U.S. that naturally increases the production of interferon in the body.

Contains a proprietary blend of natural plant extracts from pumpkin seeds, safflower flowers, plantago seeds and Japanese honeysuckle flower buds which have been clinically proven to support and stimulate the natural immune response process at the cellular level.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.

1000 mg. of milk thistle and 100 mg. of CoQ10 three times a day for two weeks; then the same doses twice a week after that.

Milk thistle is an herb that has been clinically demonstrated to help improve and maintain liver function. It is not a cure but it will help slow down further deterioration of your liver.

CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10, or ubiquinone) is a natural enzyme normally synthesized in a healthy liver, but is usually deficient in Hepatitis C patients. One function of CoQ10 is to enable the immune system. It also is responsible for all cellular functions.

The Mayo Clinic is currently conducting clinical trials on the efficacy of CoQ10 in the treatment of Hepatitis C, but results have not yet been published.

The efficacy of CoQ10 in the treatment of HIV patients has already been demonstrated, and CoQ10 is an accepted adjunct in the treatment of HIV.

Neither one of these is a CURE, but both of them offer very strong metabolic and immune support. Neither one has any known adverse side effects, or food or drug interactions, and both are available OTC without a prescription. Milk thistle is very inexpensive. The CoQ10 is a little pricey but I think it's worth it.

Good luck!!

The only thing you should take with cirrhosis of the liver would be milk thistle while watching your diet, no red meat, no iron, no alcohol, low/no soduim and try not to drink beverages with fake sugar in it. Try stevia if you have to have something sweet.

There are new and very promising phase 2 trials going on right now with medications that seem more tolerable. As far as cirhosis goes, I would ask the doc if you can handle low dose interferon to tide you over until one of the newer treatments come out. Interferon DOES give the liver a break and does help process the toxins out of the body because of it's anti-inflammatory properties.

wish i could help you more!

There is no cure for Hepatitis C, but with any use of alcohol and a cleansing diet and regular exercise you can help it some. There is an herbal treatment, but I would have to look it up for you. It has worked on some patients, but if your liver is too damaged for repair, I'm not sure how much it would help. If you want me to look it up, just let me know. God Bless you and take care of yourself.
