I think that there's got to be a balance. Moms should be allowed to breast feed in public BUT they gotta be discreet about it too. I think it's just insane how some of these women run around with their boobs out and don't care who's sharing the space around them. I also don't object to parents changing diapers on a plane (I don't adore it but it's better than baby having a dirty diaper for the entire flight) but that doesn't mean I think it's ok for them to wave their kid's naked bottom all around the cabin. Just because the kid needs to eat or dirty his diapers doesn't mean the rest of us will magically feel it's a beautiful act.

I will respect your right to breast feed ONLY if you respect my right not to watch you do it.

Flight attendants in general are not looking to start a confrontation, especially at the start of a flight. So if whatever this woman did was enough to warrant a flight attendant talking to her about it, it must have been pretty off the wall. So I actually am proud of the flight attendant who asked her to cover up.

No, not all. She should have had some respect for herself and other passengers. I would not want to sit in a confined area with my 14 year old son and husband (especially on an airplane) right next to a strange woman and listen to a suckling baby, or see her exposed breast. I can only imagine how uncomfortable the people who were right next to her must have been! Or, worse yet, what about perverts? The flight atttendent was looking out for her best interest as well as those around her.

I am a mother and I nursed. Breastfeeding is a very, personal intimate act between a mother and her baby. I innately had the common sense and decency to take my newborn to a private area AND cover myself.

This woman obviously doesn't have any decency and needs attention! She has taken her soap box drama to extremes. She should be embarrassed and ashamed of herself. I think she is SELFISH!

A kid's gotta eat when a kid's gotta eat. Would you rather have them screaming? If you're offended, don't look. Is that really so hard? Who really is the cause of the problem, the mom who is doing what needs to be done or the uppity, gawking public who can't mind their own business and show some self control? Honestly, not trying to upset people, but maybe she didn't have a blanket, or the baby doesn't like to be covered. You can see a lot more offensive things by turning on your television any time of the day. I'd rather see a woman exposed while breast feeding her child (or have my kids see that) than someone "accidentally" exposing their breasts on live TV for nothing more than their own publicity. Anyway, sorry for the rant. It's a sensitve topic for me.

No way, it's rude to just be out there in front of a bunch of people.
Kids, and people who just get really offended by this shouldn't see it. and for the flight attendant who notes this and does something about it, is a really good attendant.

plus most moms would cover up if asked or if they even did breastfeed. some don't even realize they are exposing themselves.

Its just a breast people...it doesnt bite. A breast is just a breast and if your mind starts thinking of sex when you see it...then that is your issue. There are plenty of ugly feet being paraded around out there in sandals and flip flops that I find offensive but I am not going to ask those people to cover their filthy toes. They should be polite enough to at least wear shoes or get a pedicure. Just as I have seen a few *** cracks hanging out of peoples pants...its something I don't really want to see but I am not going to ruin my whole day over it. You either have class and etiquitte or you don't. So if you have dirty gross feet with your *** crack hanging out and you have your breast plopped out with a baby attached to it thats your perrogative. I will just look the other way.

I don't think so. Me personally, I don't want to be on a flight while the woman next to me has her breasts exposed. The ladylike thing to do would be covering herself with a blanket.

Not sure how the rest of the world feels but in the U.S., as a society, we have a tendancy to be shocked by any type of female nudity (Hello Janet Jackson). Yes, a woman should cover up when she is breastfeeding simply out of respect for all of those around her and our culture. And yes, I am a woman too.

No. There's a time and a place for everything.

This is up there with someone changing the diaper in the seat. NOT the time nor the place.

NO-IT IS DECENT--.
AND MOTHER SHOULD BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS.

AS A MATTER OF FACT EXPOSED BREAST COULD BE CONSIDERED INDECENT EXPOSURE..........AND ILLEGAL.
