My dreams are usual very detailed, vivid and realistic. Like, sometimes, I'll dream up a whole conversation with a friend or colleague, complete with jokes, questions and emotional reactions. There have been a few times when I've dreamt about doing something or talking to someone and it seemed so much like a real memory that I didn't realize it was just a dream until I find out that the action or conversation never took place, either by talking to the person or seeing that I didn't do what I think I did. It was weird and made me think there may be something wrong with me because I also have insomnia sometimes. Anyone else out there ever had their dreams get mixed up with their actual memories?

Yes. I've done that alot... But it's usually where i dream about it and then it happens the next day. I have a lot of Deja Vu moments and i also have insomnia sometimes. It really kinda freaks me out when i have Deja Vu twice..

Yeah, sometimes things happen that reminds me of something from my past but it turns out it was a dream I had 10 years ago (I used to write them all down so a lot of them are stuck in my memory) Dreams involving phone conversations mess me up because I do sometimes answer the phone if I'm sleeping. If I dream I'm on the phone I usually have to ask the person about it the next day. I sometimes get weird "déjà vu" moments out of nowhere but a lot of the time it's because something happens that I dreamt about and it causes me to suddenly recall a dream that I otherwise would have forgotten.

If you ever saw Ronald Reagan interviewed, he was constantly confusing the parts he played in movies with real history. If your dreams are anything like how you would really be in in your waking life, I can see how it could happen as dreams for most people are a response to things that are happing inour waking hours or things we are thinking about. I have had dreams that seem so real it was hard to "come out" of them upon awakening.

EXCELLENT QUESTION!!!! I actually had a crush on a girl in high school. When we all went on our senior class trip I wanted to sit with her on the bus but she was already sitting with this other guy. She even kissed him some which really disappointed me and I gave up. Later I found out that she never sat with this guy and I can only conclude that I dreamed the whole thing and lost out on a chance with this girl because of it! But you know? I'm all grown up now. I have a fine wife and a wonderful home that I wouldn't trade for anything. So, maybe dreams like that are sent by God to keep us from screwing things up!

I have definitely done this. There are specific things that I am NOT sure they happened or did not because I'm too embarassed to bring them up to the supposed involved parties - but I could SWEAR they happened! And they seem like they could, but I'm not sure. At a point in my childhood there are things I 'blocked out' because they were emotionally stressful, and some of the things I 'remember', I'm not sure if they really happened or what. So ... I dunno if it's normal ... but it's happened to me too!

my problem is that i drema about things that actually happened and so i cant remeber wat actually happened and wat is made up cuz its all based on an actual event. i normally dream about being molested wen i was lik six and so i cant remember wat actually happened and wat didnt, i had to sit down and seperate memories from dreams and that took forever. now iv got it straight but thats just one example, a lot of other stuff im still not clear wats real and wat isnt.
