To Steve G. Yes you can use any ground beef, usually even ground turkey.

Super Wal-marts do and so do many of the grocery stores around this area (NW Ohio). You can always ask your grocer to make you a one pound package, they usually oblige happily! Good luck and happy thanksgiving!

They Do! I answered your question now answer mine, If a recipe call for 1lb of ground sirloin do you use chuck because ground meat's ground meat and it's cheaper? It not chemistry it's cooking use what ya can get and smile

They usually do. It might not be an exact pound but its close enough for recipes calling for a pound. It could be .98 or 1.02 but its considered a pound.

I know.. it's either under one pound or over one pound. I'll never understand, but even if it's a little over or under, I use it all anyways.

I would say buy 5 pounds then break it down in to singal pounds, its alot easer...

mine does...but you can also ask the butcher..he will package some for you.
