well how do you know that those things are working great? if they were wouldnt you have heat? Just playin. If you have a stock thermostat and your truck has more then 100k, replace it, its not hard and cost about 8 bucks. More then likely your thermostat is stuck open. Also you should get your cooling system drained and flushed. This will get rid of any blocked areas mainly around the heater core. I had the same problem with my truck. Replaced the thermostat, flushed it, and now the heat is way to much. This is a common problem with our trucks.

Sounds like the temp control valve that's leaking. It needs to be replaced. May not be opening all the way either. Try pulling the heater hoses, and shove a short piece of hose on there, just a foot or so, then with the garden hose, try forcing water in the hose, and see what comes out the other pipe. Switch back and forth between the two a couple times till it continues to run clear. You should now have heat. If the coolant is nasty, change that too, and try it. If it plugs the core again, you may need to flush the entire system, and change the core~Dan

What temperature thermostat do you have? For best results use a 195 degree thermostat. Change the thermostate if its a 160 deg because they dont give out enough heat for comfortable operation of the heater. I know because this is what happened to me with my 1996 dodge ram. The heater just wouldn't blow hot air. The fan, water pump and switches were all working fine.

Yeah sounds like a vacuum line either split where it fits over the flange under the dash or the heater airconditioner switch bad. Another possibility if the temp control switch, It might not be working.

how do you know the heating core's fine ? Just because you don't have water on your floor boards or steam coming out the vent does not mean there isn,t blockage. The only real way to know is to take the dash board down

Do the easy thing first, replace the T-stat with a hotter one for winter driving, I'm guessing 190 to 195 degrees.

See if the valve on the heater hose, under the hood, close to the heater, is working.

Your heater hoses are probably stopped up. Take them off and just use the water hose to blow them out. You will be surprised what will come out of them. Its a quick fix if it works and is worth a try.
