that the religious hypocrites from Biblical times did? I hear people all the time making claims that if only Jesus were to show Himself to them they would instantly beleive. There were swarms of people who were around to see Jesus back when He was alive and even most of them en including some who had been behind Him) ended up betraying him, so how much difference will there really be when He comes back?

not_a_too, if you were Jesus you would never have died on the cross because you care too much about yourself to humble yourself enough that you would die naked on a cross to pay for the sin of the world.

It won't matter then. It will all be over but the crying if you are unprepared, and it will all be over but the rejoicing if you are prepared.

When Jesus returns, life on planet earth will end---heaven and earth will pass away. Eternity awaits all with the resurrection of the just and the unjust.

My guess is if He walked into a central southern church He'd be get nailed b4 He left.

There are many even in the central South who would welcome Him and never betray Him but if He stood up in many a Southern congregation and told it like it is well at a minimum most would listen, I am from the south born here, and for the most part church is a social club. You know what happens when someone rains on one of those parties. Usually hear at the big table down at the cactus cafe

You ever see how some people talk to cops on the street or a store like a phony envy, welll I think there would be much of this. However I feel people that have not treated others as if they were christ will regret this. (mind you I mean in respect and love etc etc etc)

I believe the same thing will happen then as happened when He first came. A large majority of the professed believers wont believe because He will not fit the image they made of Him. There will be some who just cant help but follow Him (like the disciples) and others that might need to test Him some but are not closed off to Him. And of course many who just outright reject.

AngryAmerican82,
The first generation should not. After all, He will be seen by every eye, in the clouds, in the Day of Vengeance. He will cause the land to come apart in Israel, and 'melt' the army that was gathered against it.

I think that then, all those false religions, all over the world, will be the one's that are cursed by people, in that they misled so many for so many years.

It is at that time those tongues will be silent, and people that don't already know Him will know their error, if they are lucky to be alive.

people are the same where ever you go. There are only two sides the good and the bad and its always been like that. Accepting Jesus in faith without seeing Him yet is more acceptable than accepting Him in seeing Him these are hypocrites. Our Father Jesus wont even bother to show to them who lack faith in Him.

No disrespect whatsoever will be shown. Even those who are destined for eternal punishment will acknowledge Him.

Rom 14:10-11
For we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

11 It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'"
NIV

Sadly, those who acknowledge Him because they SEE will spend an eternity away from Him. Those who acknoledge Him through FAITH and not SIGHT will spend an eternity WITH Him.

We will know a David Blane from a God on earth. A miracle from a magic trick. A crowd gatherin 200 years ago would be easily fooled, imagine...

guy1 " what's Jesus doing, I can't see through the crowd..."
guy2(planted apostle in the crowd)
" turning water into wine"
guy1 " how, what, that can't be"
guy2 "He's the son of God, he can do all kinds of things"
guy1 "really? has he done other miracles?"
guy2 "he walked on water and rose a man from the dead, he is god, and we must follow him"
guy1 "well he did turn that water into wine"...

Jesus is Comin', look busy!

There will be many who want to deny who He is, but can't because even demons recognize Him. (Mark 1:23-24) There will also be many who WANT to accept Him as their Savior but can't because it will be too late for them and their hearts will be hardened from rejecting him for too long.
In short, no. His second coming won't be like His first because He will come with such power and glory that every single person will understand what's happening and will be filled with fear unless they belong to Him.

not much respect will be shown
A prophet is not honored in his hometown was said by JC himself.

But you have to remember that next time He comes riding on the clouds with hordes on angels. I will be sure to bend my knee when I see that
