I've been doing for a long time. It's really a sick and gross thing to do. I usually find a little bump like a pimple and keep cutting it with a razor or scissors. I've even had staph infections from it. I'm really embarassed to talk to a Dr. about it but I know I need to stop. I also use drugs once in a while and I do it more while I'm under the influence like picking and stuff but I also do it when I'm completely sober and sometimes for hours. I really scarred myself and I'm very sad because I know I'm a pretty woman. Is there any procedures I can do to get rid of the scars once I get better? They are ugly reminders. Also, what kind of RX drugs do they usually prescribe for cutters? I've read about body dysmorphic disorder and OCD and I know I suffer from atleast one of these. Please help.

trust me hun, that not cutting.im a cutter and thats not cutting not even close.

just stop the drugs and any other habits that involve being less than sober, then figure out what is wrong with you. is there sumthing that is bugging u that make u upset or feeling like ur less than beautiful and great? if there is then fix the problem. only a doctor can diagnose things like OCD so b4 u say u hav one ask ur doctor to diagnose u, self diagnosis can harm more than anything. just talk to ur doctor. even if ur embarrassed it doesnt matter, u cant b the only one who does it and its not like hes gunna tell everyone, hes not allowed to. chill out and just talk to him.

cutting yourself is a very hard thing to get away from. I have been a cutter for years. Over the last few years, I have only cut 3 times. And not deep. You need to find another outlet for your feelings. You NEED to see a doctor, there are many prescription drugs that can be taken to lessen your need for cutting. Don't be embarrassed, if anything your doctor will be happy that you came for help.

You should see a therapist. Cutting yourself is usually a twisted attempt to fill some void in your life, and you need to figure out what's missing so you can determine healthy ways to fill that void. It's very difficult to solve a problem if you don't know what's causing it.
In your search for a therapist be sure to seek out one who has experience specifically with self-injury, because many of the ones who don't tend to misunderstand the problem (I've been accused of trying to kill myself, and even threatened with a 72-hour observation in a psych ward). It would also help if they specialized in mood and personality disorders because you may have something. Self-injury, drug use, and other self-damaging, indulgent behaviors are often symptoms of borderline personality disorder. I'm not saying you have it, but it's a possibility.
As for the scars...worry about their removal later and focus on not creating any more! At present you should use them as a reminder of why you DON'T want to do this to yourself.
Best of luck.

im not sure if thats cutting...it depends why and how bad you do it but if it is, it is serious. go and find some help. i cut but im getting help and things are getting better. i promise things will get better with youself as well.
i'd stay off the drugs though...they really dont help.
as you said you are pretty so why leave yourself with scars?
if you are a proper cutter you need to find an alterative...talking might work, drawing, writing or maybe you need something which gives you pain but is not harmful..like holding ice cubes. i dont know. try something though please. google: stopping self-harm. there are some good sites out there which help.

i do suggest going to speak to someone though. they know better than us what to do.

keep going and find help..it's out there.
good luck hun xxx

Why....why do people keep cutting themselves??? I'm really tired of hearing probelms like this....why do yu have to take it out on your skin instead of a nice little notebook paper?

Write how you're feeling on a piece of inncoent paper and then afterwards....throw it away. Taking it out on a piece of notebook paper is much better than taking it out on your skin. You need to talk to your docor no matter how ebarrsing it could be.

Did u know a girl dies last year at my school because she was a foster child and she hated her life, so she deiced to cut her wrsits and accidently cut open one of her viens? That's how she died and this is really a true story....you have viens everywhere...you could accidently cut open one of them and die instantly...thats how serious cutting can be.

Don't be embarassed to talk to your doctor. That is his or her's job to help. But, you really need a doctor. They can give you the best and healthiest way to stop cutting yourself. As for the scars, I think that if you can go to a dermatologist they can use some type of lasers to get rid of the scars. But, please sick medical attention soon.

Oh, honey, see a doctor right away. You can be helped, probably with a combination of medication and talk therapy. This is very serious - besides the injury to your self esteme you can mutilate yourself badly.

cutting can be very serious. you can cut a main vain and not know it and bleed to death. i don't know of any drugs for this I'm sure they have something but i would get counselling right away. they may be able to tell you if there is a drug out there for that. and depending on how deep the scare I'm not sure they can do anything unless they can do like a laser surgery. check with your insurance company and see what kind of mental health benefits you have and ask them to refer you to one that deals alot with this issue. the drugs you do can make you do it if your bored or you think somethings there you need to get off. but please go get counselling they can help you alot. you can also get alot of infections that can be bad. so please please please go to a counsellor and let them help you.
