How to eliminate the smell of smoke in packages before sending it off?

My friend's husband is a very heavy smoker and smoke gets into every nook and cranny of the household. She recently sold an item on Ebay only to get a complaint from the buyer that the item smelled very bad. She's tried a lot of things such as tossing in cedar chips or concealing items in the garage to keep away from the smoke but still the smell of it still gets in everything.

Would anyone happen to have any tips on how to eliminate the smell of smoke in packages before they are sent off?

There is no way to eliminate the smell...the husband needs to take his habit outside...

Is there no place that she can store these items that she sells? Maybe in a garage? The coffee grounds do work well too. I would suggest that she find somewhere else to store her stuff.

Try spraying it with frabeeze really good. The item if possible and the box that the item will go in. Hope that works.

Try febreeze before packaging and maybe a fragrant sachet in the box good luck :)
