I now live in a different state and we just recently started expressing stronger feelings for each other. We were never really a couple before, but I would like for it to be that way.

Well, i think it's ok to to sms her. As long as u do something to let her know u care for her.. remembering her birthday n text message her shows u care for her.. it's very good that u take things slowly=)

uh NO!!! Not if you want to be her man. Cell phones have free long distance so you should just call her. It is her day, don't ruin it! You can send her a sweet text for her to keep in her phone, but the call is a must.

Call her!! Texting makes it seem less special and indifferent. She would love to hear your voice and sincerity, not just read a text message. Call her and surprise her, she'll love it.

go with the call. it's more personal to talk with your voice than a bunch of random letters that mean nothing. better yet, at least see her or somthing
