Red Flag Warning!
He wants control in this relationship, rather than a joined effort. Control is not a sign of love but a sign of insecurity and jealousy. Control leads to abuse.
Do what you want with your hair and leave that child before he hurts you for real!

Well, when you met I'm going to assume you had long hair and got it cut significantly. I myself LOVE long hair. It's sexy ..and you have something to hold on to when your riding from the back! ;D Anyway when you met ..I don't care what anyone says...looks are what attract someone right off. If you changed your look drastically, well then you don't have the same look that attracted him to you in the first place. But I agree with the others, he will get over it if it's you inside he cares about...if not, then maybe he'll reveal a side of himself best found out now and not later.

Oh my goodness! I had long hair when I met my husband (back in high school). He still has a hissy fit when I get a couple of inches cut off. He loves combing it and running fingers through it. Maybe they just have a hair fetish. Good Luck

Some men like to control every aspect of a woman's life. You should step back and look at this relationship from another point of view. Today it's the hair, tomorrow maybe your clothes, and then maybe he's controlling your whole life.

Geez. Well, he needs to realize that it's YOUR HAIR.
He really doesn't love you afterall if he just loves you for your hair.
I mean, what is he gonna do if, God forbid, you get cancer someday or something and your hair falls off? He needs to get over something so petty as hair...
Is there a chance you told him you weren't gonna get a haircut and you did outta nowhere? I guess he wanted some kinda warning. I don't know the whole story though.
But overall, to me it's just hair.

Well some guys like long hair, curly hair, short hair on a woman. It is a matter of preference. He should like you. For who you are? Not the length ,color ,style of your hair..He sounds immature, controlling, and shallow.Maybe you should think about breaking up with him.

Some guys think girls hair is their crowning jewel and are attracted to girls with long hair. It may make you more desireable to him. If he wants to break up with you over something like that then he may have just wanted you for your looks. Tell him that you are going to please yourself first and foremost and if he can't deal with that then kick him to the curb.

Look, I know that he doesn't get to decide this.
Its 2006, your guy doesn't get to tell you what to do.
But guys are are weird about stuff like this.
Like, it really hurts their feelings if you dont consult about changes to your appearance.
Its crazy.
