Because of the cool mint flavoring in the gum.

well b/c the gum cleand some plaqe and it is cool mint (hint COOL ) and when ur breth is fresh and drink a cold bevrege its cooler but its diffrit if drinking cold then eating hot b/c it starts to hurt a bit b/c teeth are like glass
