I have a pain that feels like it goes from the middle of my back to the front of my chest all the time.I prop up with my back eleveated and my head against the bed headboard while im using the computer .I do this for sometimes hours.Its it normal for your back to hurt all the way through to your chest because of this?

Believe it or not my pains ,just like yours stopped the day I stopped using my laptop in bed. Please give it a try.

yes you can cause pain like that. You are straining your ribs and neck that way along with your mid to upper back and the erector muscles of the spine. If you misalign something even with a muscle spasm, it can hurt into your chest. Ribs are nasty to hurt too. If you like sitting like that, get one of those body pillows and at least lean back onto it so it's a softer cushion to your back. Proper posture and alignment are pretty important to keep pain free.

For now that it's hurting, try a hot shower and let the water pound down on it, use moist heat on the sore areas, even your chest, sternum and ribs, it helps relax the muscles, ibuprofen is good for pain and inflammation too, and you can use things like mineral ice, icy hot, biofreeze, sombra. If it persists even with different posture you might need to get a script for physical therapy, chiropractic or massage.
