It is about time. For so long, women have had to bear all the responsibility about being protected against the possibility of getting pregnant whether it be having the condom, or some other form of birth control. Now, men can be bothered with the every day task of remembering to take "the pill". Too bad they don't have a menstrual cycle.

I think it's a little ironic that the male pills in development won't be released until there are NO side effects and it is 100% effective... I guess it's ok for the female pills to not be perfect, eh? And the birthc control shot, hoo boy that has some nasty side effects.

all it is is testosterone, or a derivitive of it... its been known for years that with an exogenous source of androgens, the male body stops/slows down release of its own testosterone, as well as alot of other hormones and this leads to a temporary, but completely reversable non-production of sperm. any bodybuilder on 4000x the amount of androgens/anabolics that are in these pills can not get a girl pregnant, but as soon as they come off of it they can... look at arnold.. he took many many thousands of times the amount of what would be in these pills.. the people who should not take androgen supplements are males under the age of 21, and older men with possible prostate problems. the male body is still setting in stone the permanent level of these hormones to be had for life in guys under 21.. so they may permanantly alter thier androgen levels... over 21 and the body reaches homeostasis in a week or so after stopping.
i could definetely see this as being a favorite with the 35-50 age group, if only for the testosterone they used to have years ago. this is of coarse the last i heard of this development and im pretty sure this is still the route that is being taken by the makers of this product.

Well you see what their drug for erectile dysfunction is doing (causing blindness). Wonder what the side effects of the birth control pill will be - 4 hour erections?

Sounds extremely dangerous.

Such a pill would work against hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Female birth control pills co-opt an ancient system of preventing additional pregnancies when there is an embryo already implanted in the uterus.
